Thread: Rifleman Armor for PvP ?
My basic strategy is to wear armor that is low in encumbrances rather than high in resists.

Hello everyone!
I bet this has been asked lots of times already, but after reading through the Rifleman FAQ thread i couldn't find a suitable answer.
So should Riflemen/women wear armor in PvP ? If yes, which ? What should i pay attention to when i buy a set ? Slicing ? etc.

I have a full set of ubese with moderate resists. I have a composite helm, Krayt enhanced and sliced, both for lower encumbrances. I also have a composite chest plate with kinetic special protection, sliced for encumbrances.
For PvE, I usually fight as a Swordsman, so I wear the full set of ubese. Between this armor, being buffed, and my center of being, I do not take that much melee damage in PvE. For PvP, I usually fight as a Rifleman, so I wear the composite helm and chest plate with the ubese golves, pants and boots. I can wear either configuration unbuffed.
I just recently bought a stun layered helm, which I plan to use only when being attacked by stun weapons, because it sliced for effectiveness, not encumbrances.
I find this strategy to be effective, because I try not to put myself in situations where I need to have ubber armor to keep from getting killed. I prefer to be able to kill quckly and effeciently rather than drag out the battle by taking and dealingless damage (because the armor causes me running out of HAMforspecials qucker). So I go with light encumbrances and pick and choose my fights).

I use the followingequipments...
-composite helmet with 31% stun resist, the rest is like 70% at least.
- composite gloves, boots
- bio clothes with defense mod
- either bio clothes or ubese shirt
- PSG (35% resist on everthing include stun) or Imperial PSG (53% energy and 18% for stun)
By this way you could save some trouble from encumberance. In pvp, people don't really hit the arms and legs, don't you think? Well.. unless you fightagainst pikeman lol.

I wear a Compo Helm, w/ stun layer, Compo chest (67 base right now, looking to upgrade to 90% soon) and Compo pants w/ 71% across the board. The rest I fill in with voritor enhanced bone armor.
Don't laugh, it's 30% energy and a little bit o kinetic. I can wear it all with 400/400 H/A sub stats.
a good set of ubese makes it take about 10 secs longer to kill me, and sometimes gives a guildmate time to waste the TKA before i die.
other than that, I don't wear much pvp armor. I have a full set of 80% energy/acid resist composite, but don't wear it much.

FYI: Random targetted high impact shots like strafe2, last ditch, crippling shot, etc. have a chance to hit the arms and legs.
Only way armour will decay faster via slicing is if its effectiveness slice.
Armour is a 2 way road. The more dmg it absorbs (ie higher resists) The more dmg the armor takes and decays faster.
Other than that, slicing has no effect on rate of decay.
80%elec 88%base sliced for effectivness.
2 BE brandy and 1 BE canape and doc buffs ,u wont have any HAM cost until the HAM changes come out.
macro a single stun layer chest and triple layer helm for when u get caught up by a fencer and/or rifleman. stun batons have no ap and the single stun layer destroys the stun baton. jawa is ap1 so u need more layers. if u can get nice nice NS shards with a high -mind and makea stun single stun highbase helm with them. higher base is raised by elec layers. i had -48 mind NS shards, made a sweet sweet helm
