Hello everyone. I have just gotten this game and so far it's not to bad. I have a question for the rifleman class. Is there another class that we can be to help our skills? What I mean is I have seen post about Medics getting both Doctor class skills and Combat Medic class skills. Is there a combo for Rifleman and say Bounty Hunter or Carbineer or Pistoleer? I would like to know so I can plan out my skills. Thanks for the replies. ^.^

Well, depends on your play style.

Rifleman+swordman is a good one i think.

Rifleman + commando or rifleman+TKA doesnt sound bad to me as well.

I'm told 2 hand melee is good for a rifleman, as it also targets the Mind Pool.

Personally, I'm a Rifleman / Ranger and loving it.

I'm going a bit against the grain and doing Rifleman and Creature Handler.

I'm rifleman/swordsman/medic.

First Aid IV, Pharm IV, no diagnostics or organic chem. So I have to buy my stimpacks from someone else, but I can use the good stuff and put a major heal down.

Two-Handed Swords is a natural compliment because swords also hit the mind pool. I also love the area-effect attacks of the Swordsman tree, but the main reason I went swords was so I could mindshot something 3 times before it closes, then switch to sword and keep hitting the mind pool. Like being a Rifleman/Fencer would be fairly pointless, because you'd attack the mindpool then the creature closes and you'd have to hit some other pool with Fencer attacks.

So in battle I can do serious DOT's, deathblow from range and if a TKA or whatever charges me, I can switch to my sword.

Also kinda cool for kiting nasty beasties, as Minshot1, Mindshot2 and the Swordsman mind bleed all stack. (e.g., against Jaxes)

just to add to what pecos said =)

yeap, rifle/sword works very well in pvp.. and we can hold our own against melee-er.. although honestly i've never had that much of a problem with them from afar (all i've fought are TKA and nothing else.. for melee that is)

the thing is, i can usually one-shot em or two shot at most.. and if they make it to me and i switch to my sword.. its usually knockdown time.. so sword kinda sux... (eyeshot from BH line works VERY well instead cause you can kite).. but against non knockdowner =) u'd probly win

its also very nice for kiting.. cause you can put multiple mind bleed on the target..

but for npc with big hp... lemme just tell you that swordsman HAM cost (on action) is as high as our rifle (65+) for the good swords that is.. and they hit very very fast.. (2 secs for my sword)...

and of course you can't max all your action cause u'll have low mind/health.. (on the character stats), so u're pretty much stuck with average everything.. unless if u're a zabrak)...

what this mean is that one headhit2 cost 140 action cost... and does around 800-1200 damage to NPC... meaning u can probably do 4 or 6 before u're dead (and of course the enemy will hit you too)...

just something to consider =).. for efficiency i'd pick a class with knockdown or kiting ability... or medic.. that works very well cause both focuses on mind.. and with good medic skill, u're invincible =D unless to one-shot-kill...

Thanks for all the replies. My play style is to be self sufficent when I can and do all the other things well, like party, pvp, etc. So I am liking the whole Rifle + BH, Rifle + Swordsman and Rifle + Medic. Which of the three is a good choice to be more self sufficent? Don't get me wrong I like to group and do group activities, but there are those times when I want to enjoy it myself. Or maybe another combo? Thanks again.

Well, I have decided to master Marksman and Rifleman is there another class I can master like medic? Or should I not master the Marksman class?

You should master Marksman because it will give you a bonus to rifle accuracy and speed , 10 and 5 respectively . Now if you feel it's not worth the work for those two skill mods then it's a matter of choice I guess ...

As far as a combo I would go Rifleman / BH with the other things mentioned . Pistol is one of the strongest skills in the game ATM and you can throw on your pistol and hit huge mind damage with Bounty Hunters Eye Shot . YOu can also stack 3 Mind bleeds , the box just under Eye Shot gives you another Mind bleed

This means ya gotta master scout , tho , as well as Marksman . But I find almost all of the scout skills pretty useful anywayz , and they go a looong way in the self sufficiency department . This is the build I'm going for .

Pistols are just too good at melee range , and you can kite with them in PvP AND you can use a Mind targeted attack which compliments your Rifle attacks beautifully . Why not compliment your Rifle skills with the best weapon skills in the game ? Pistol all the way with BH .

Good luck

Jon
