another great tip ive given to everyone ignore getting t21 too slow and wont make much more damage than a good laser rifle with a speed slice at the start speed slice is what u want without speed slice you'll be shotting ever5-8 seconds at the start.
there always naff group going out of coronet i mean always if there isn't any on ur server then leave without those group u have no tanks to help u kill.
at the start u think its crap slow and watch everyone else fly up in commando or some other elite profs. rifleman NEED brandy spice food and the odd dancer/musican buff without these ull run out of mind in about 4 shot with armour on.
as someone said using the bare armour like boot chest gloves and helmet of a good kin ubese will work great low encumbrace and high defence though crap in any real hunts to like of geo labs.

Seriously i'm starting to give up hope of ever reaching riflemen. I can't kill anything cuz the second they spot me they attack and i get maybe 1 out of 10 shots to hit them at point blank, i'm not goign to hunt small mobs cuz i'll get bored really really fast and just stop. So i have no way to friggen get to novice riflemen none the less kill anything else. Plz you guys help me get at least to novice, and hopefully eventually master it. God this would be easier if i had a hunting group of4 or more but noooooo, no body wants to hunt in group snaymore.

Sharnaff groups from coronet, or squill hunts on tatooine. Slow going to start with but picks up.

Therein lies the flaw of rifleman. It absolutely 'blows' until you reach the last maybe 4 boxes at the top. After that you are basically, suddenly better than all other ranged combat classes and several of the melee ones. They really need to fix that

Wait there are groups, you mean non-solo group. OMG is the apocolypse. Seriously to get in a group you have to waste like 30k on buffs, no one ever ever hunts in a non solo group anymore expecpt for guild hunts, and those are rare too. So can someone give me another real way to get up there.

if there really is no group (doubtful as I'm sure you could get 1 or 2 mates to hunt with you, group can be less than 20 ppl :>
and you havnt got CH to tank with a pet, ur stuffed at the lower rifle levels.

The advice you've been given is sound. If you don't have the fortitude to make it to master then choose another profession.

Go prone at your rifles ideal range. You should get 3-4 shots off (and maybe kill) before the mobattacks you. If you pick missions from a terminal with your rifle of choice equiped then the mobs should be of an equal level to your current skill with that weapon.
I myself went up Pistols first (later dropped), along with Ranged Support. Ranged support gives you some useful specials that you can use with your rifle to help keep mobs away, namely threaton shot, warning shot and suppression fire. You also get Aim from Ranged Support which will increase your chance of hitting a mob closer up with your rifle, but it's often best just to leg it& /peace!
If you are a scout use your traps too.

I didn't have any problem leveling up rifleman. About 3-4 days of quenkers/huurton stalkers. I had a macro set up so it went easier.
-Mindshot1
-Mindshot2
-Headshot3
-Headshot3
-Headshot3

The key is to get at least 60-64m from the target. If its quenkers just kneel, huurton stalkers go prone until they start charging towards you. If you have /maskscent you can score even more potshots before they realize you're there. I leveled the whole rifleman tree without armor. The only major drawback about the rifleman is you almost always need buffs+brandy. I probably only died once or twice leveling like this because the whole base would aggro me at once hehe.

I don't know what server you're on. There seem to be groups running out of Coronet, Corellia all the time for Krayt Dragon, Dathomir Rancor hunts, etc. This is a good way to get XP and a good buff is only about 10K,. If you're going to go solo, then definitely quenker(no savage quenker)and hourton missions. Rifles gives good XP for just hitting the target a few times at a distance and great damage, depending on what rifle you are using. Once you dispatch the critters around their lair, then rifle the lair for a good burst of XP.

Well I don't know about you, but when I was a Novice Marksman working up rifles, 10k was a lot of cash to me

I can relate to your frustrations, as most that read this thread can I'm sure, but don't dispair. When I got frustrated w/ the lower lvl grind, I would just unplug for a bit or go to a POI on my map. I don't PvP and have never been buffed by a doctor. I just use food/drink, but then again I'm not trying to be solo uberness. Before Novice Rifleman, I would Headshot syck's on Tatooine w/ tusken or laser rifle. I believe they were upwards of 1k per kill and I could finish them off most of the time before they could agro me, I use pistols when things get close, which is getting more rare as I get more comfortable w/ my main role.
What I did was get conceal-shot first. Granted not the route to a speedy mastership but certainly will cut down on those charging mobs that you say are so bothersome. Get a decent T21 (110min-400max 'ish' but speed will probably be an issue here for lower lvls) or laser, find some speed/min dmg powerups, speed if nothing else, some vasarian brandy, a ubese jacket/gloves/boots/helmet(rarely use helmet), and go to Dantooine. Get some quenker missions (usually 5800+- credits in a improved job market city by yourself) and work your way up Counter-Sniping to lvl 3 for Flushing-Shot if you want the XP to roll in. Flushing-Shot 2 and an LE-repair droid w/ some combat/repair modules make an awesome quenker mission team. Group w/ your pet/droid and always train in Rifle abilities w/ your combat XP as this will speed up your rate of fire. Maybe get a lvl in Sniping to improve accuracy. When I reached Flushing shot2, I bought a droid. I group w/ it, send it to attack the lair, let the quenkers accumulate on him, target the farthest one, then "Flush" them away like the little turds they are. After about 3 shots, all 4-5 mobs are dead and I get about 3100XP 3100 Combat XP per kill. Tap the lair a couple more times, a few more will spawn then wipe them out along w/ the lair for about 17k XP 1700 Combat XP per mission. I'm usually done w/ a mission and onto the next within 3-4 minutes and never get charged when I don't get in a rush.
Before you get those nice AoE dmg shots, yea, it's gonna be a little slow. But it can be done. Just keep peckin away at it and don't be in a rush. Enjoy the trip too, not just the destination.
