Thread: Best combo for Soloing or Party Krayt killing

Rifle/CM for wound and poison healt?

RIfle/Doc for stay all time in the graveyard buffed or can buff all time you're krayt hunter friend?

Rifle/Commando for make onfire target and spam strafe?

Other car?

All of them are fine, allthough commando would be the weakest. But I think none of them could solo a big krayt easily without the use of some shoddy tactics.


Imo, Rifle/2h with the defense line from either fencer or tka and 2040 medic is the strongest solo PvE combo. Great defenses, best damage of many different types and the possibiliy to heal 1000+ HAM every 5 seconds.

CM and Doc are the only 2 choices really.


CM will provide slightly higher dps for you. While CMs are generally pathetic for pve, the resists and armor of a krayt makes CM dps not as bad compared to normal weapons. The extra damage might get you a few more kills when faced with competition.


Doc is simply convenient. Being able to buff yourself is just so useful. You can log out and log back in at the graveyard and get right on killing, no need to fly back to coronet. Dizzy stims are also somewhat useful for giants.


So, it really comes down to personal preference. If you don't mind being dependent on others for buffs, then go CM. Otherwise, doc is the clear choice. Nobody can really tell you which is better.

I think the best PvE combo would be Master Rifleman / Master Swordsman / Fenver 4440


You get the best professions in PvE and all the defenses in Fencer. I would do this template, but I love the Meditative tree in TKA.

Im master rifleman/master fencer and part medic


attack the krayt with your rifle


and when your hurt go fencer to heal


I can solo giant canyons with this combo

me and a friend of mine hunt krayts and are pretty effective at it. im a rifleman/doc hes a rifleman/cm. i heal the dizzy states. and after a few ticks his diseases tick for about 3k and his poisons for about 5k. they go down very fast.

^----- what he said. I can solo dragons with my current build, but if a hit sneaks through my armor, I can get toasted in a hurry. Seems armor hole is STILL not fixed, at least for me. I am ditching master brawler to grab fencer and medic as metioned above. I dont use harvestors or any other tricks....just straight-out snout-to-snout with the big lizard. My armor is fairly-lightweight 90% kinetic Comp, doc/dancer buffs, Acklay PH, Krayt T21...set my COB macro to looping and go to town..as I said before, unless an attack sneaks through my armor, my HAM hardly budges. I can and have out-damaged large-groups that happen upon me while I'm fighting. The sad part is, I get hate tells from some of those groups when they were trying to steal MY kill.

im just able to solo em with a decent damage sliced t21with powerup,set ofubese armor,and some stim E's... some of you guys try to hard.

This qualifies as a shoddy tactic but it works quite well. Go find an area with the krayt you want to kill. Next, bring out the ultimate tank, a structure factory! Yes, that's right, lay down a structure factory nearby. Hop on your trusty swoop and parade yourself in front of the krayt so that he chases you. Proceed to cirlce around the structure factory and the krayt will become stuck trying to get around it. After that, just shoot until he falls over. Very shoddy, but until my razor cat stops getting stuck on dantooine lillies while following me, I'm going to keep hemming krayts up with structure factories. Hopefully this will make the devs fix pathfinding issues. I know it will result in mobs being able to run through buildings, but here's to hoping.

By big krayt do you mean giant or ancient? Both rifle/cm and rifle/doc could do giants with ease solo (although it's a questionable use of time, compared to regular/juvi krayts, unless you can only find giants). I've never tried an ancient, because it would take far too long even if it were killable. Ancients just aren't worth the trouble. Honestly, a rifleman/novice medic could do giants without breaking a sweat. There's no need for shoddy tactics, just get good armor and tank the things until they're dead.


I also agree that Rifle/2h sword is an excelent pve combo, which I would combine with medic personally. The question is about killing krayts though. Against krayts, 2h sword adds absolutely nothing, since rifle does higher dps and there's no need for kinetic or blast damage. CM is about the only thing that adds to the killing power of a rifleman against krayts, and doc as mentioned is just plain useful to have.

My build is as follows


Swordsman (Master)


Rifleman (Master)


Scout (3.0.0.0)


Medic (3.1.4.0)


I can solo everything up to Giant Canyons. Conceal shot takes a lifetime, so i kite around with my t21, and switch to a phammer when the dragon closes in. Takes a while, but when you get him distracted with other mobs attacking, the t21 tears through him. Powerups for both weapons aren't critical, but speed things up alot. 600+ stim C's, brandy and the def KD food are all thats needed. 5 Giants, 11 canyons and 30 some juvies, and ive needed one muon.


-note** take your helmet off when your 30m+ away, keeps your mind full.


**edit** (just read the post above mine) IMO 2 hand is a life saver. 2 hand hit lvl 3 hits about 5000 dmg with a good phammer, which means 800-1200 dmg passes onto the krayt. Also, assuming the dragon eventually closes in and meeles you, trust me, you want a COB macro running and your hammer in your hand.

How would this work for hunt krayts solo?



TKM, The defence line of fencer and swordsman (I can't remember the names of them at the moment)


Great dmg (for the moment) and great defence. But you would need good armor buffs and food buffs.
