Thread: Soloing Giant Dune Kimo, help needed.

Ok, so I tried last night. Conceal shot, managed to get the sucker more than half way, then my rifle decided to put a bleed on her/him, and the damn thing agroed everythime...one thing let to another, and the damn thing ended up switching to full health again.
Anyone got any tips on soloing these rather large dragons.

get novice brawler and /warcry and /intimidate it if it agros... stick like 6 intimidates that gives you a minute of half damage... the kite and strafe2... if buffed in 80% comp you sould do fine... they are what 80K HAM (or so)... 1k dps is 80 secs to kill...
conceal shot till you land a bleed, then as soon as you see the bleed icon start intimidating... a couple should stick before it gets to you... if not warcry till it sticks then intmidate...
or go with medic skills and drop stems on yourself if you pick up an agro...
i've also heard (not tested) that fire a fer concealshot's then peace for a few secs, repeat till its dead... personally i don't think this will matter cause i've stuck bleeds on the first shot...
and the last route is to go smuggler and get the dirty fighting line... if you stick the bleed /feigndeath till the dragon wanders off aways and the bleed stops...
there are lots of ways to go about killing the endgame mobs... i didn't see your template so exzact advice is had to give... i play aroiund trying to find the best ways to kill these MoB's... many different templates its doable with...

Here's how to do it without the Brawler stuff:
Have a bike nearby. Do exactly what you were doing. When you see the bleed icon pop up, /peace, get on the bike and move to about 120 meters. Wait until the bleed is done ticking, then return and finish him off.

Why do you need all that? I put on my 85% kinetic armor, and go to point blank spamming headshots with a damage sliced/damage pup'd T21 
Then again, I'm master doctor, so I just heal anything it throws at me

That's fine with MD. The disease would probably kill me though

It's worth remembering that thediseases will only ever black-bar your 'unbuffed' HAM levels. So you're still left with whatever you got buffed for (which includes food/drink like brandy). It's still a pain, and you'll be a mess once your food/buffs wear off, but you can still function pretty well up to that point (since they only disease your primaries, you don't need to worry about ending up with horribly low focus or anything like that)
The KD/Dizzy is more of a problem if you don't have Doc - at least, I think Kimos do that?

Thanks for the replies.
I'm a doc, so I guess I should be able to do it. They just look a bit scary when they get up close so my natural instinct is to get the hell out of there.
Oh yeah my template is doc, rifleman, combat medic 0004.
Does this look doable.

hmmm. i tried also as MRM and MD, and i got only 2-3 shots off before he agroed, me and then began to hit me for very high damage. even with top armor, i dont see how a RM can tank it. oh and to the guy who said 1k damage a sec - i dont think so - even speed capped. he has medium armor if not heavie and high 80% around resists. so it takes a good few minuts.
so either do the "run away every bleed and wait" or just get a TK to tank for you. you will be killing more GDK this way

before i mastered rifleman i decided to try my luck at a GDK.... pretty stupid. However, I was a master ranger already. I camouflaged myself and laid down. I started conceal shot on him..... pretty soon he saw me. I was buffed and armored... he diseased me pretty quickly and started knawing on me pretty hard. So I did what anybody else would do... I ran. Then it got interesting. I ran past aggro mobs that aggroed me. Once the GDK caught up with me though... he aggroed them accidently because his attacks are AOE. So, I let myself heal a bit... the disease only goes as far as your original stats... so my buffs gave me a cushion... then i walked about 60m away... and started headshot3 on the GDK like no other. Pretty soon he killed the other aggro mob and would chase me again. I just ran past another mob and let them take the punishment again... This went on and on for about half an hour. I ran this GDK past Kusaks, Gurks, Nym's, Corsairs, Snakes, mercenaries and all other form of aggro mob on Lok. Unfortunately... I didn't kill the GDK. I got about 40k of his mind gone in about 25 minutes and then my buffs ran out. He poked my with his little pinky claw on my little pinky toe and killed me, my HAM being 1/1/1 . Anyway, it can definitely be done. It helps to have medic, which i did, but it can definitely be soloed. I just mastered rifleman a few days ago... worked on getting glowy all weekend. But in a day or two, I am going back out to Lok to solo a GDK. Wish me luck.

How do you guys find those GDKs you kill by the way?
I've been looking for them for weeks and yet to see one except the static spawn at kimo town.
Do you use rangers to track or justride aroundthe volcano (i've heard they spawn around the volcano) until you hit one?

go 1k-1.5k m out from the volcano and start riding a circle. it might take an hour, but in the4 times i went to look for one, i found one.
maybe ill try agian to solo it hehe.

Yeah, I tried the other night on a normal dune kimo, and I managed to kill him with conseal shot. I didnt get a bleed on him, so he didnt agro...wasnt too bad.
Iike you say, the Giant ones always seem to agro.
