Thread: Oh my freakin' gawd, do I EVER hate BAF critters

Just hadda get that off my chest. BAF critters can hug my left nut. The fact that there are more of them now than there were before is pushing me towards cancelling my account. I play this game for fun and relaxation, and it is neither fun nor relaxing to spend 40% of my hunting time either incapped or running back from the cloning center. Nor is the alternative, which is to just run past MOB after MOB and lair after lair, ignoring them because they're BAF critters I can't hunt.

And no, I don't want a pet. If I wanted a pet, I'd be a freakin' Critter Handler. I shouldn't have to be forced into taking on a pet just to make XP in this game.

as it is I get owned by even blue con BAF NPCs or creatures


for those you have to have a gun strong enough to one-hit them


but white con and up critters you can just forget about

At the risk of sounding like a total newbie, what exactly is BAF? I'm usually good with figuring out acronyms but this one's left me stymied.

BAF = Bring A Friend

Also known as "social" or "assisting" critters. Shoot one and you aggro any others who happen to be nearby.

A lot of critters that weren't BAF before the 10/8 patch were made BAF with that patch. Thus making it EVEN HARDER for Riflemen to gain XP.

foaming vynocks on talus give 1k exp a pop (with droid grouped).. and they go down in 3-4 novice rifleman HS2's with a DLT.. they rarely BAF. especially if you stay prone.. as you get the 3 free courtesy shots.


fine for new riflemen on the early boxes.. personally im still trying to find something nice to hunt for the high tier boxes.. female pickets (dant) are non baf.. but without pets the 9k HAM means a fair amount of incaps (they dont DB though).. plus you have to contend with all the f*cking childBH and Commandos and 3 Graul CHrunning around killing everything, on their pre-pubescent hunt for holo's. Cant they get they own server? Fed up with dealing with DeathFireStrike and SooopaKillerLeet etc, andthe other amazing names they come up with... ask em toleave it outand all you get is 'hahahaha n000b'

if theres obly 2 critters around you can use the out of range trick, you target a critter thats out of range...baf kicks in.... his buddy charges....you back off a bit and blast him...


kamarith defilers spawn in 2's on dathomir...5-6k xp a kill...they have 11k ham..and are lev 50 i think



i understand your frustration...i too didnt want a pet...but i caved and got the skills to get a graul mauler....Now i slaughter almost everything....lovin strafe2


my advice get a pet to level till master..then scrap your pet skills....i know you dont wanna but leveling is so much easier

heres what I did to get to master rifleman- go to Talus (moon of corellia) and kill torturs. Torturs hunt alone and are easily killable with cover and headshot 2. I hunted them alone untill I hit master and I didnt even use a pet for any of that. Just use a good laser rifle with a good power up (33% max 16% mind). When you get to a hight enough level, you can get tortur missions.

Torturs are BAF since the 10/8 patch.

Pretty much everything level 15 or higher that wasn't BAF before 10/8 is now BAF. I have yet to find a critter that cons white to me (at level 17) that isn't BAF. Mamiens? BAF. Humbabas? BAF. Grondas? BAF. Torturs and Tortuns? BAF. All were non-BAF before the 10/8 patch.

Torturs are BAF now? Thats stupid. The DEV's are becomming more and more insane.

what do you mean becoming ?!??


apparently they all think that everyone is a 3xGraul 3xATST using BH/Commando smuggler... so actually.. mob levels are too weak and easy as it stands.


I wouldnt be supprisedthey change the BAF rules so that everything in a 2km radius aggros you if you even just try and equip a rifle.. regardless of species/faction. Maybe they will give all the animals a guild chat channel so they can get their relations/friends on other planets to fly over and gankus at cloning centers

Just a question, how strong are your guns, and do you kite mobs at all? I easily one shot anything that's blue, sometimes white, and can take on up to yellows and make it out alive (although not easily). And also, do you guys wear any armor? It's made a world of difference for me.

My 3 Favorite things to Hunt on Naboo BAF now, Bolle Bol's , Fambaa's and Giant Peko Peko's.

I hit takecover fire up mind1/2 hs3 hs2 hs2, stand equip sg82 and start to kite up a hill. AWE C7ap 4 after me now.

tracked for some Fambaa's Figured I might as well try that. SEE ABOVE.

Tracked again for Peko's , 2 giants Sure Never Had a problem before with them, SEE ABOVE

ran to starport. Ticket to RORI, Narmle. Levisqull's HERE I COME. at least I can out run them
