I took the profession as a challenge because a lot of people were complaining that rifle is really hard and takes a while to gain. As i was progressing thru levels i fell in love with rifle and now i think i'll stick with it. Getting master was nor hard at all, if i was concentrating just on that i probably could have done it in 2 - 2.5 weeks. The strategy was simple and extremely effective:

Assumin you start from zero but have money ( i was a lot of other professions before including master Docso money was not a problem) this is the way I recommend:

Strart by getting a decent rifle and get to rifle 3 in the Karen (Naboo) newb zone near the starport - gives you abundance of constant spawns of chubas and all other newb critters.

Proceed with purchasing a rock beetlre and getting Pharmacology 4 to be able to use Stim D's. A crate off D's of 900+ base heal is around 100K (at least i was selling for that much), you will need 1 crate of 50 to get to master Rifle. Meet a master smuggler and bring him to your favourite weaposmith store with good stock of good quality Laser rifles. Buy rifles and let him slice till you get 4-5 rifles with 30%+ speed, also get few crates of 33%mind / 16%speed powerups (2500 per crate on eclipse) to be replaced later with 33/16 damage once you get better speed through levels.

Go to Talus imperial outpost and kill everything around it ( my favourite were Viciour Haf-Duns, Dalydrakes and Torturs..all of which spawn there in abundance) As you kill them make sure to harvest to get scouting exp. As you get enought scouting progress to Nov. CH and continue with beetle till you get CH 1-1-0-0. Beeytle is quite sturdy so it shouldnt be a problem...just be careful and dont take on too many at a time.Once you are there get a GSP and go to Dantooine.

On Dantooine you pick up 10K Piket missions which are super easy and give you 35-40K exp per nest. Make sure to attack male pikets first as the females do not asist so you only have one picket bashing on your panther at a time. I also like to pop a Muon Gold before every nest...if you are efficient and spam Head shot 2 like a champ LOL your Muon will expire just as you are killing the nest itself, then the downer expires as you run to the second nest..so each trip with random kills as you run gives about 20K credits 100K rifle exp and loads of fun and herbivore meat . I used to get up to 500K exp per day when i wasnt lazy so ROCK ON.

If you have any questions please post and i'll answer as best I can...

How easy do you think it would be without those great stims, before non ch pets were in the game and the best weapon on the server is a dlt20a made by a smith that isnt even master yet?

Sorry i dont really see the point of your post...

I stated that i made my own stims as master doc, and i had money to buy everything else (so yest it will take longer for players who dont). Still it may add 1 week tops. If you dont have money to buy a crate of stims run some missions thats how we all statrted, if youare on a server that only has DL20a rifles and you dont know a good weaponsmith..i cant help you.. If you refer to the fact that you made your master really early in the game when all resources were scarce i respect you. My experience is to help current players, mostly aspiring jedi's like myself who need to master a bunch of prefessions quick and go to the next.

My point was you were speaking down to every person who ever said it was hard for them make master. I am sorry that not every one can be as wonderful as you. when I bought my copy of SWG it didnt come with a master doctor that had a bunch of credits.

Hey, i think your post is great..personally! But i was just wondering im novice BH 0-0-1-1, and i really think its sucking up my skill points and needed a proffesion that was less point consuming, do you think that it would be wise to retire my bounty hunting skills for the rifleman? Im not sure at the moment i have around 50k so i should be alright, i already own a greater sludge panther AND a verosious kuzak pet...i can run more missions on lok and get about 50k more if you think is nessicary..Please get back to me on hte post or if you are on gorath (hopefully) message me there :0)

I'm on Eclipse so sorry cant meet you in-game but will be happy to give advice here. Now, should you surrender BH for rifleman..I dont know. Depends on your playing style. BH LLC will damage a lot more but you are right it will take tons of points and will only do random pool attacks. Now if you do decide to go Rifle be ready to go to Master ..otherwise its quite hard to play. Maybe you could describe what you like to do in the game and i could recommend a combat profession as i at least dabbled in all of them lol

Would have taken me a while..cant even tell you...there are strategies probably but i'm estimating 6-8 weeks at least. But i think its just a waste of time doing it without a creature. Its very easy to get and then you drop it and get back whatever other prof you had to drop.

For the poor man, well made stim Bs work fine. I figured out the picket deal and it's the way to go. If level on pickets its a good idea to find another rifleman willing to train. I am leveling quickly enough to begrudge all the money i lose to training

There is no change that SOE could make that would not cause people to protest. Whether they are nerfing the overpowered or giving love to the under developed, whether the change is small, or far reaching, someone somewhere will complain, protest, call it a 'slap in the face' and start a petition.

I just like doin lots of damage heh... but i want it to be directed to a HAM pool that is much more effective..(mind in particular) cuz in PVP that person wont be able to heal themselfes if i nuke their mind...so rifle sounds pretty much what i want to be...
