This is a pure cut a paste, so there is some other things we tested but you will see that knockdown defense works, ranged defense works. I have +50 to defense vs knockdown and +49 to ranged D.

For the people that dont want to read through this I will spell out the particulars:

Missed shots: 8

Knockdown landed: 14

Going by these numbers Ikenn would have roughly 33% chance of landing a knock down each round.

Conclussion: If you dont spec for defense then you cant whine about being knockdown. The skill works, it is your choice to spec for it or not.

Sorry, I don't think you should have to spec just to resist one skill. No one has to go out of their way to "spec" for headshot3. I mean it is one **edit** ability.

The belief that you shouldnt have to learn the skills because you dont want to and do as well in combat as someone who does spec, is wrong plain and simple.

No its not wrong. We as RIFLEMEN are singled out as the only combat profession (not including commando) that has no knockdown. And since we have no knockdown we have no counter for knockdown. Carbineers, Pistoleers, and BHs have a counter for knockdown. And that skill is....knockdown. I SHOULDN'T have to take other skills outside of Rifleman to survive against ONE SKILL. Because god knows Pistoleers already have what they need to be effective in PvP. We are a combat class and therefore want to be effective in COMBAT. So how does the crafter analogy even make sense?

I should be able to be a Master Rifleman/Doctor (+0 defense vs knockdown)and not have to follow your exact same template just for a chance of maybe killing someone once in a while in PvP.

and to some extent, combat medic =).. but yeah. knockdown is lame

Silverliabo is a BSer or gets a lucky strak. I have more than his ranged defense and 10 points lower KD resist(or i had) and I resideted 18% of knockdown attacks, while my partner resisted 24% with half my resist to knockdowns and 1/3 my ranged defense. Whatever. you have been a content rifleman itching to "nerf rifleman" it seems. I have no idea what game you play but its surely not SWG.

Lets see if I can address most of the whines.

As for having a "cookie cutter" template. How can you even make a statement like that when you dont even know what my template is? If anything the template I will be using will be unique, unlike your very cookie cutter template of Rifleman/Doctor. Should I get healing, and buffs for free because I didnt spec doctor? See you fail to understand the basic idea behind this game. You cant be good at everything, there is a give and take. What you want SOE to do is give you a free ride, and I am saying no they shouldnt. If you dont spec for something you shouldnt just get it for free.

Also the mainstay arguement by the rifleman community is we shouldnt have to spec anything else. That rifleman doesnt have KD blah blah blah. If you think for a minute that by spending less then 100 spec points alows you any chance against a template that spends all 250 on combat skills you are kidding yourself. But please keep on crying and not taking this opertunity to do something about KD.

The question was asked what my template is: The quick answer is, I will not give out my template. I dont want to see everyone and their mother using the hard work I have done and continue to do to finish my end template. But I will give you some tips:

Pistoleer +20: TKA +30: Carbineer +30: Fencer +40: Pikeman +20

Do you think I spec. that way, spent all this time so I could come here and say it works? If I didnt believe it worked, and my logs PROVE that it does, I would be the first one here screaming my arse off that SOE needs to fix the skills. Think I want a template with one of its main features broke?? Zarlok do yourself a favor and use the brain god gave you for once in your life.

In ending you cant deny what the logs show, I was expecting closer to a 35-40% miss/resist rate, was very surprised and happy to see that it was almost 70%. It also proved that most people would rather whine about something then do something about it, just look at the posts. YOU have the ability to limit KD, and what do you do? You cry that you shouldnt have to. That for some reason SOE should change the game just for you. Instead of working with what the game has to offer you want it handed to you. The great thing is I am called a lier, a idiot all because I decided not to whine about KD but instead find a way to stop it with in the paramiters of the game as is. Imagine that.

Being forced to spec in random trees just to gainresistance to a particular, godly attack is not ever going to go over well with players. Just because you personally are a tooland are willing to bend over and take it- totally redesigning your character in the process -doesn't mean everyone else is.

When BHs need tospec in random treesto get aspecial "shock resistance" skill to avoid being frozen in place for 10 seconds each time Iheadshot them, then we'll talk.
