Thread: Im so pissed
So for the past 2 weeks, Ive been trying to gather the stuff to make myself the Perfect Rifle. The plan was to make a Jawa Ion Rifle with krayts+stock+scope. I got perfect experimentation on both the scope and stock, so +30 damage and makes it +15 to ideal range now.
I finnaly buy the Kray Tissues, I bought 8 of them incase we somehow got bad experimentation. What do you know, perfect success on the first one. So here I am, about to get a Jawa Ion Rifle, that has the damage of a T-21 but is stun. I think it would turn out somewhere in the range of 150-200(min) - 300-350(max). Im not 100 percent sure as we had just got new resources wich were better then the resources we had recieved about 2 months ago and have been saving up.
So Imexcited and everything, as more and more people are wearing composite armor, I will be doing massive damage. The composite armor people are wearing are like 60-70 percent energy resists. Thats huge, making the T-21 do less damage then more damage. So you can imagine my excitment when Im getting a Jawa Ion Rifle, that does the Damage of a T-21/Non stock Laser Rifle.
Im all planning on how I would use this, I was already using one for when I go up against a certain guild. These guys have 70+ composite helmets, and are always buffed. So I would use a Jawa Ion Rifle on them with HS3. THey had around 1500 mind becuase of food, but they had like 2500 action and health, so HS3 would be more logical. And Stun pierced right through it. Not to mention there all TKAs so have major Defenses. Normally I end up kiting them for 15 minutes and I finnaly kill them.
Wellwe startputting it together, it Crit Fails. I thought my guild weapon smith was joking at first, you know to fool with me. So he starts telling me hes not joking, and I sit there for 10 minutes silent. At this point Im about ready to smash in my computer screen Im so pissed. So I logged off and went to sleep. I woke up this morning even more pissed, I HATE THIS GAME. Why does it have to be cruel to me, fine give me speed slices like almost 100 percent of the time, and my Damage slices alway crap! Fine. Dont let me have a T-21 until 4 months into the game or however long its been. Fine I dont need a laser Rifle to level up to Master Ill do it on a DLT20a. Fine make it so a Krayt Tissue with a T-21 is impossible. Fine nerf my T-21 that I still wish I had! But God, so much work down the drain, so much money... I dont think I will be logging back on today Im still so pissed.

Sorry too hear about that. The Critical Fail rates are very very high for all crafters, it makes no sense. Anyway sorry too hear about that, altho that doesnt help matters. Too make yourself feel better, you should go kill all the Pistoleers you can. When I am having a bad day, thats what I like too do, it always makes me feel better.

As I have said we bigger issues out there than the 2.5 damage on us.
Our weapons are too hard to make and expensive as hell...
Get the DEVS to make our class come to par with every other combat classes out there.

It's a real shame with the Krayt tissues.
To get a worthwhile weapon these days you have to go camp dragons for like 3 days.
Starting to feel a lot like Everquest. Anyone know what planet Nagafen spawns on? I could use a Cloak of Flames.

I like your idea of the krayt/scope/stock ion rifle. Any idea what the ham costs will be with the advanced stock though?
Just to throw down a story of unbelievable fortune (the planets, moons, suns, asteroids - everything aligned).
on tempest server we have **edit** e11's (think, 80-150 dmg).My favorite master WS made a couple Krayt E11's that looked like 80-190, 4.4, 37 mind. sweet. i take it to my favorite slicer -and was gifted a 34% dmg slice.
I was in awe, as you can imagine. that's the first good dmg slice i've EVER had (i've gone through 4 T21's still waiting on a dmg slice over 21%).
oh, the E11 now looks like 111-254. (haven't put a 32% max dmg power up on it, but the wear rate goes up so much with the powerup that i'm not sure i will.)
Good idea on the Ion rifle, gonna try that myself.

sounds like an issue we may want to bring to the devs, or Aldeon may like to post something on the weaponsmiths baord to get thier input.
No weaponsmith I know likes to use Krayt on rifles unless the buyer provides it, and then thier are no garauntees.
I have to disagree with the person who claimed critical failures are too frequent for all crafters. I do get crits, but they are very rare - perhaps 1 in 50 assemblies. This is an example of extreme bad luck on an important one-shot assembly.
On Ion Rifles, I don't believe you can actually put a scope on them - you can put a stock. Am I wrong ? I don't think so.
What really sucks though is that the krayt tissue bonuses don't stack in the rifle. The Ion rifle takes 5 power handlers. If you used +30 krayt tissues and you had a perfect assembly success, the final rifle would have 30 greater max dmg than the same rifle made without tissues. Also, the tissues don't increase min dmg on powerhandler mods, only the max dmg mod.
Just a little info for y'all, from a Rifleman and Master WS.
".. in the future the plan to move it to a percentage" - this is good, and the reason why I'm saving my 7 +56 -.516 tissues. Even if the tissues still have to be put in the power handlers I'll get a nice Ion or Laser out of them. (plus advanced power handlers may be another reason to wait if you have uber tissues, at least on StarSider where we dont have advanced PHs yet).
As far as crafting goes - ouch, what can I say. Yeah, I'm not a doc etc - it may be different. But as for smithing goes I really honestly get very very few crits. I don't know why but I really can't complain about my rate of failures. I have no idea whatsoever if any of these things actually help, but here are the things I observe religiously when smithing, and perhaps any riflemen out there getting custom work done might wish to request that their smiths try these out:
- *never* craft with any wounds on your character
- *never* craft wearing any encumbring items (armor) or shield gens.
- *always* use the very best effectiveness value crafting station and tools that exist in your galaxy.
- if you get a run of bad rolls and they dont seem to be getting any better with subsequent attempts - *stop*, walk outside, do something, and try again in 10 minutes.
I always use my points one at a time so i can see the effect of each experiment, and yes I will try 20 times if i have to to get a perfect run.
I've made about 20 krayt weapons so far without a single critical failure. Can't think of anything else to say on the subject 
Ya I had the same experince almost. I picked up these AWESOME aromor segments. -10 Action and -10 MIND encumberence. I'm thinking sweet! 8 of um I can get me a great helmet with LOW LOW LOW encumberence. Well I give them to a master Armor smith who I've done alot of business with before and hes amazed, never seen these kind of things before. And so hes gunna make me a composite helmet. Well 2 Fail. Then another 2. Finally he gets them not to fail and start to put everything together. And the helmet turns out super elcrap-o'dwith some of the highest mind encumberences he's ever seen and I look at it and it was like 280 after using these -10 segments. I was pissed. So very very pissed. So I'll never use armor , I dont care if I die 20 times in PvP, whats dying? But come on now......

Reminds me of when my pre-nerf 25% damage sliced T21 was lost on a repair job from a master weaponsmith.
I turned off all my chat channels and just sat in his shop for 10 minutes.
