Thread: The Newer, FASTER way to grind Rifleman!

I don't know if this has ever been suggested or not (and frankly I'm too lazy to check), but I'm literally flying through Rifleman right now using a skill granted at Novice Marksman: Point Blank Area 1.
I don't know if any of you have ever tried this, but it's easily the most effective way to grind from Novice Marksman to Master Rifleman. Simply make a macro that loops Point Blank Area 1 and do Lesser Plains Bol missions (target the lair and run the macro on it so you attack the lair and area attack all the Bols) until you have Rifles III, then move to Quenkers. Once you're well into Rifleman, start doing Huurton Stalkers.....it goes SO fast!
I'm posting this because all the methods I've seen so far say to go Head Shot 3 random mobs until they die...bleh.
What are your thoughts?

That is the way I did it. It's not as fast as grinding a melee profession, but it's a lot better than any other way I've heard of doing it.

OK, I'll try this. How do you loop PointBlankArea1? I'll try it on Huurton Since I'm 4/1/2/3 now.

Make a macro. Name it pba. The macro itself is as follows:
/pointblankarea1
/pause 1
/macro pba
Voila! You now simply have to drag it to your toolbar or type /macro pba and it will kick off. This is how I did rifleman as well. Threw on some ubese, buffs, got in a solo group and would grab quenker lairs. I was using a damage sliced spraystick, which I found to go a bit faster than with a T-21. Worked like a charm.

hmmm obviously you did not read the Newb Faq where this is talked about. It does work perfectly fine but it teachs a bad rifleman habit - one that will get you killed after the upcoming combat revamp. It is best to learn what role a rifleman plays while learning the profession. We have seen many times people who grind to master in days who have no real skill at being a rifleman and have no clue about the different affects of their various attacks and how defences for rifleman work. IT IS FAST, IT IS JUST A BAD HABIT TO LEARN THOUGH.

When u use the point blank area...doesnt everything aggro and come after you and kill you? I'm new to rifleman and would like to know....I find I need to use conceal shot like all the time cause once aggro...I'm pretty useless....

I used that attack when grinding rifleman. Made things a lot faster. Like using the TKA spin move just a little weaker.

Ackehece does have a point there. Back the first time I mastered rifleman, it was when composite armor was only about 35% resist and too heavy for everyday use, buffs were hard to find and muon ran freely through my veins. Coming back to it, I had a hard time swallowing the slow grind I did the first time. I just wasn't going to enjoy it like I did in the past. Enjoyment though, is the crux of this matter. Some people do not enjoy the slow grind, some people do. For those of you who do powergrind and never truly learn the profession though, don't yell exploit when a Rifleman, from 60m, stuns you, dizzies you, and then forces a downposture on you. No exploit there, he/she just knows what they are doing.

lol that works great. get yourself a Speed sliced t21 when you can. You can fly through rifleman.. But I didn't learn how to be a good rifleman this. I have mastered Rifleman But now I must MASTER the Art of the Rifle.
