For all you lucky Riflemen on Bloodfin, I am now selling sliced Laser Rifles with monstrous stats:

112-640 6.0

They are all damage sliced, non-powered up (powered up they hit 850 max). There are 3 in stock right now at those stats, and many more with slightly lower stats. Here is a screenshot if you don't believe me.

Other 30% and higher damage sliced weapons are in stock as well.

They got stocks.. which adds damage but adds even more mind usage. 110 will allow you to fire half the amount of shots compared to the standard.

Mind cost is 89. Sorry if the pic doesn't zoom well for you (it works in Mozilla). I just threw it on Geocities real quick. And yes, it does have a stock. But that's not the only thing you have to do to get these kind of results.

so that makes the unsliced max damage 490 then? eh, not ALL that impressive if you used krayt tissue.

Like I said I will neither confirm nor deny using Krayt tissue. But IF I used tissue, the resources avalable on Bloodfin (normal Krayt enhanced + stock maxes at 475-481 on this server) make it a 33% or higher dmg slice. Less than 1/20 of slices would be sufficient (probably closer to 1/30). I have 3 of these rifles in stock. IF I had made and sliced around 100 enhanced Laser Rifles (meaning about 300 tissues), wouldn't that still be pretty impressive? If I did it another way, wouldn't that be impressive?

I don't want to be arrogant, but I can't help being proud of this accomplishment. So please forgive me for being on my high horse for the next couple of days.

You see, Weaponsmith is pretty simple. Every Master has very similar chances of making a particular weapon. Everyone has the same skills. Everyone has the same resources (more or less). There is nothing like "I am a better WS than you". There is just using certain resources. The only thing that could make a difference are skill tapes, which could give you more experimentation points. However, given that the resources are usually too bad to spend all points on dmg/speed anyway, that is not a big factor.

Having that said, there are only very few ways to make uber-weapons that are better than what other WS can do:

- use of special components (Kryat)
- very lucky slice (I think a Master Smuggler can get to 35%)
- abusing the rather popular exploit for WS that will create better weapons


With all due respect: I am a Master WS and understand how the system works. As you state yourself, it's unlikely that you made so many guns with Kryat and hoped to get a good slice.

The accomplishment you are so proud of sounds a little suspicious to me. Care to comment on that?

being a weaponsmith and extrapolating from my own laser weapons this gun is using advanced parts all around including the stock... it also could have been one of the RARE amazing assemblies... my lasers start at 22-23% for the great assembly and i've had as high as 27% with an amazing assembly... ALSO the lasers are slightly bugged on the experimentation... If i hit the magic 80% number i best stop experimenting as i'll only get mediocre successes after on that range (usually damage) also my stats at 22% with full experimentation are around 32-381 5.7 spd without stocks... so i figure 80-450 with a stock (haven't made one with a stock in a long time so its estimated)... and taking my estimated stock+laser that would be a 30% damage slice... no krayts involved...

i'm looking to get my hands on some Krayt tissues for myselfBTW... Email Lemy or Lemy's on Tempest... I only charge normal price for krayt gun assembly with you providing the tissues... but i'm looking for some for my own stock and Lemy's isn't up to soloing krayts (yet)

wow, thats funny.

i'm on intrepid and best rifle i have ever seen was about 440-450 max dmg (unsliced, without powerup), but it had freagin 106 mind cost and nasty HAM costs all around to boot. i bougth one and couldnt use it.

after giving it several tries i put it in bank and it sits there since its not a viable weapon to use due to HAM costs.

so those 400+ rifles that you all are talking about, do they have default HAM costs ? mind around 58-60 ?

or are they the extra high ones ?

if they have default costs please post how to make em so i can bug some weaponsmiths on my server to do so, or at least so i can start collecting components myself, then have one of em assemble it for me.
