Hey all!

I just recently became a riflemen and I'm looking for the best one to use while the grind insues in the Geo caves. I'm currently using a Laser Rifle with good stats (can't remember them ATM) Is there a certain rifle that works best for the Geo caves? Or just an excellent on in general? Thanks in advance!

Haven't been there in a few weeks, but if I remember correctly, the Crazed Geo's are vulnerable to acid damage. I was using a Scatter pistol and getting close to 5k xp per Crazed Geo at the entrance of the cave. Try the DRX6 Tenloss rifle... I believe that it uses an acid attack. BTW, if you are actually going into the caves, the droids are vulnerable to electric damage. Good luck.

Awesome thanks for the help! I think your right, I examined a few and I remember the acid being low. I just wish I could get XP for the damage I do with my Flamethrower, I can pump those things for 9.5-11k with flame single 2. Anyhow, thanks for the help!

I've been there the last two nights a lot. You definitely need several rifles. The most important is the DXR6b (acid) rifle. This makes sense since the schematic and the components all come from the cave. The second most helpful rifle there is the Berzerker (heat) that you get from the Corvette. These are hard to find, but fortunately a friend got one and sold it to me. The "Alert Droidekas" in the cave are vulnerable to Heat and I can take them out one-on-one with the Berzerker. I noticed some things in the cave are vulnerable to stun (Jawa Ion) and cold (SG82) but these rifles generally arent powerful enough to be of general use there.

An equally interesting question would be, "What specials do you use in the caves?" AoE shots seem to do more harm than good, so what's a Rifleman to use aside from SS2?

MindShot is always good since all your attacks are on one pool. That is if you are Master and can put out the shots quickly. FlushingShot1 is also pretty good for the stun effect if you can get it to stick.

hi

i have the following macro set up, all non ae, single target, really great stuff. i should point out that i am master rifleman with ranged support 4, so this works for me really well. it might not work for you if you dont have ranged support.:

/flushingShot1

/flushingShot1

/supressionShot1

thats stun, dizzy, posture change, 3x dmg multiplier (highest non-ae rifleman dmg hit). in essence its a KD atrange. works great. teh aiming is there to ensure a landed hit at least once on teh supression.

as far as weapons, i use a regular T21 the most, i tend to stay away from the acid rifle it seems to do less dmg at higher HAM costs then the otehr ones so i only use it for some selective targets. most of teh time i fall back on teh T21, Laser, Jawa, SG-82.

The only shot i use is HS3, i used to use area attacks but then i would have a room filled with crazed geo/ehanced kwi's/enhanced klikniks etc.....Don't use area............

you should realize that only the 2nd ones are AE, not the 1st ones. strafe1 is a single target attack for example whereas strafe2 is the AE.

the 2nd thing is that we have some awesome state effects on our attacks which can be set up into macros and tehy end up often being more effective then headshots. we have stun and dizzy to start off with which gives you a KD ability when combined with others.

one time i went with a carbineer friend, i kept spamming AE dizzy while he kept spamming AE posture changes. we destroyed groups of crazed genosians in a manner of seconds and without geting hit.

also, unless you are actually soloing in there, which is unlikely, the vast majority of your group will be doing health pool dmg. it is pointless to bring every mob to half its mindpool while rest of the group reduces healthpool down to zero.

when in group situations in general, unless everyone agrees to and goes for mind dmg, you need to use the ones that do health pool dmg. so that you can contribute to teh group and work as part of the team. shots which do not have a defined target pool, land on health 60% of the time. keep that in mind.

Use strafe2 on the nest on the ledge above the first large room with the jail cell like-things in itand theforce klicknicks. Make sure you're solo too. (Not sure that description will actually mean anything to anyone lol) I switch back and forth between area attacks and single target attacks. In different areas you can get away with using flushing2 and strafe2 and in other areas you have to be more careful. It's the same with anyplace. You can use strafe2 in the corvette also if you're careful but at other times you have to use only single target attacks unless you want 3 super battle droids on you.

I use 2 guns in the geo cave, a dxr6 and a T21, just depends on the target's defenses.

I have seen the advice to use heat damage weapons many times but I don't understand why. No creature are vulnerable to heat and in most cases have higher resists against heat than other:

- Crazed genosian:35% ER, 65% HR and vulnerable to acid and cold AR1

- Kwi has 40% KR/ER/HR and 5% rest, AR2 than DRX6

- Enh Klicknick 40% KR, 40% ER, 95% HR!, 10% to all other and vuln to cold. AR2 (T21 best)

- Mercenary 40% KR/ER, 20% rest vuln to stun . AR1 (Jawa, T21 or DRX6; but T21 is probably better since it gives you 2 level of AP better and resists are low)

- Fire spider 50% KR, 95% HR!, 10% rest vuln to blast/cold AR2 (T21 best)

- Droidikas 40% KR, 55% ER, 10% BR, 25% HR, 25% CR, 40% SR, 40% Acid vuln to ELR AR1 (t21 best then DRX6)

- Acklay 30% KR, 45% ER, 55% BR, 55% HR, CR 40%, rest 30% AP2

So how can heat damage when weapon is Ap0 be better than DRX6 or T21?
