I just recently mastered Rifleman and want to pick up a brawler prof to go with it. I have enough points to spend to master one elite brawler prof while still keeping the other skills I want. I don't think I'll go pikeman because I hear bad things about it's efficacy without having an uber ns weapon. I am finding it really hard to pick between the other 3, they all have good strengths. I want to be great in PVE but also might want to do some PVP every now and then. Please let me know which you think is best and why.

Thanks much,

for PVE, Swordsman is your best bet, for PVP Fencer is an excellent choice, for a bit more allround TKA is a good thing

Hmmm.....

Its different mate!

In PvP your best bet is Fencer! Stun baton and awsome defenses........

But I would recommend either Pikeman or Swordsman to you!

Swordsman: Like Rifle, they got good mind attack... With Swordsman there are not much you cant solo with a good damage sliced power hammer and buffs and comp armor! So this will suit you will in PvP too!

Pikeman = Well.. Both Pike and Rifle use Block, so they stack.... Also, Pike has some very good Area attacks!!!

Its your choice.. Go with what you think is cool!

But if you wanna PvE, then Swordsman is your best bet... no doubt about it!

TKA is pretty decent... Its like the best all around, easy to play with..

But.. Swordsman... Thats PvE... Wow... I have seen them solo giant Krayts.. Not many who can do that!!!

fencer owns all melee combat, the tkm 0004 tree is a huge defence bonus too. my dream pvp character would be MR/MF/TKA0004 that would have all defenses extremely high and you would pwn

I have just made MRM and am currently working on TKA. Both work really well. TKA allows you to play the tanking role, which is fun to do at times. I am currently 1 1 3 2 and can pretty much tank anything even without armour. Once my buff runs out, I drop back and pull out the trusty T21. It also makes you more versatile in a group. You have the flexibility of either playing the role of support or tank in a group. Throw in abit of medic, and guildies are gonna luv you. Also, compared toRM, the TK grind is a walk in the park.

The current template Im working towards is as follows

MRM + the ranged support tree from marksman

TKM

Pistoleer 0 0 4 0

Medic 1 0 0 0

I should end up with a fairly well rounded character

Noooooo, Pikemen are the coolest! (mostly )

You get more Block (and it's even gonna get balanced with Dodge/Counterattack from what I've gathered ), area attacks, and it's just plain cool. You'll be unique too- not many people are brave enough to try Pikeman

hi

i am master rifleman, master fencer, 0300 TKA and 2000 medic. i think i have like 1 point left over.

this is a very nice template. it is good for both PvP and PvP. of course it isnt perfect and it has its weaknesses but its still ok.

i went with the + to Combat Equlibrium and state defenses nstead of meditate or Defensive Acuityline in TKA for the following reasons:

Defensive Acuity works only when you have a VK or no weapons equipped. it is a skill exclusive to unarmed combat and does not stack with fencer / rifleman.

Meditate is very usefull for PvE. i was really divided on this one as ability to cure my own poisons anddiseases would allow me to do things such as rancor missions etc. but i went formore PvP aspect. meditate is kinda useless in PvP since you cant really sit down and meditate while getting beat on by someone. it is a skill very usefull after, but not during combat.

i got + to Combat Equilibrium which i have now very high, so regardless of getting knocked out my toon will simply get up by himself right away. ialso got some decent + dodge and + state defenses from this line.

another greta option is to replace the TKA line with the defensive line from Pistoleer. that also helps a great deal both in PvP and PvE.

fencer is very nice, very defensive, opposite of rifleman in this regard thus they compliment each otehr very well.and i got some medic fot Stim Bs and First Aid.

My template is Rifle/TKM/0040 Pistoleer/ 1000 medic/novice scout and I can do pretty much anything. I can kill anything in pve and the only template I lose to in pvp is CM/Rifle.
Medic skills are absolutly essential imo as with good stim b's you can heal for around 700 H & A...

well i kept the meditate line so i can force of will, and powerboost. +i have a melee head hit. and i dueled a guy the other night who hit me with a poison ns lance, after i incapped him i almost incapped myself, but i meditated it away. = ]

Personally,

Im gonna be Master Rifleman/TKM/Pikeman 0044 along with novice medic.

This allows me to heal poisons, wounds, diseases, anything but battle fatigue, i have noc=vice medic to heal, i have pikeman for the state defenses and the SICK DOT mind poisons with those uber Nightsister Lances, and of course everything that goes with Rifleman. I like that template and it can hold its own pretty much anywhere. Thats what I think. So I say any of the brawler professions are good, depending on what you want. Its really well how all the brawler professions are balanced, to some degree;

PVE- Swordsman

PVP-Fencer

All-Around- TKM

Im not sure where pikeman fits in, so I dont wanna be biased, although i know for a FACT that they are NOT PVP. Maybe some Pikes out there that are good at PVP, but as far as the profession's limitations, Id say that theyre not.

So my opinion is TKM for the all-around ability.

Plus, its a blast.
