The SG-82 has no armor piercing, the one I have with a power up is.

174-320

The T-21 has Heavy Armor Piercing, with a power up its:

204-647

Now, which would you rather use on a krayt dragon, which typically has lower cold resitance. The SG-82 does cold but has no AP, the T21 does energy but has heavy AP. Thank you in advance.

For questions like this, it's best to crunch hard numbers:

Damage Meter

I think you'll find the T-21 better though.

using a sg rifle your only doing 34% damage for a 66% reduction. with a shot that hits for 320 it will only do about 108 total.

if the T21 hits for the minimum of 204 the krayt will take about 81 damage. so the only way a sg will outdamage a krayt is if every shot the T21 takes it hits for the base minimum damage and the SG hits for max damage. every shot. the T21 is doing 40% of its damage.

hands down T21 wins. the only way the SG would every outdamage a T21 is if the creature is vuln to cold and has heavy AP along with massive energy resists. but there arent any creatures that are vulnerable to cold and have heavy armour. and unfortunately there are no creatures that are immune to energy but not cold. the only creature that is currently immune to energy is the stoneskin hanadak but it is also immune to cold.

basically in PVE there is point to even owning a SG rifle. well if you like walking around with a shower head on a slide from a trombone for a weapon more power to you. but there is no use for a SG in PVE.

I've definately had much more luck with the T21 than the laser if thats all we're comparing. The acc. of the DXR-6B is definatley worth the money you'll pay for one though, however. Its good to keep em both around depending on the situation that you are in.

you also need to think about DPS. The T-21 is more of a sniper one shot weapon becasue of its high damage and low rate of fire. While I think the SG82 typically has a RoF around 3-4, almsot half of the T-21

If you are a master speed is generally not an issue.

T-21 no doubt about it. SG-92 will only do 0.125 of it's normal damage because of AR3 vs AP0 (Heavy armor vs no armor piercing) penalty.

Definatly the T-21. even though it is less resistant to cold.. you have heavy armor to worry about, get that out of the way and you only haev a 60% resists monster with 350k ham. instead of a 350k HP monster with heavy armor, and 60% resist on top of it all.

How's this? I thought AP0 vs AR3 was (.5)(.5)(.5), resulting in 12.5% damage for a 87.5% reduction. a 320 shot will hit for like 36 or so.

either way the result is the same the SG82 has no purpose in the game.
