Think they are the same, as its based on class of gun (pistol, carb, rifle, heavy?)

Does anyone know if T21 Rifles give more movement hindrance than Advanced Laser Rifles or are they the same?

On that same topic, does anybody know if the actual movement hindrance numbershave been tested and reported for the various weapons? I always equip my pistol when I am running around outside of combat, and am curious whether it really lets me run appreciably faster. I really just like the way my toon animation moves better when I'm running with a pistol.

melee/unarmed weapons = full movement rate

pistoleers have a small reduction

carbineers a larger one

rifles larger yet

heavy weapons (including proton rifle) larger yet

This has been tested and it is fairly obvious it is working

(Test method)

line up outside theed cantina

(people with different weapons equiped) (2 from each category but different weapons)

have observer start the race

race to river on far side of starport.

That's so funny, I had been thinking of doing that very test with a race! I wonder how one or more participants experiencing lag would affect the results though...

I guess what I was asking was whether anybody know the numbers/multipliers for exactly how the hindrances work?

Thanks for the response Ackehece! I guess I'll continue running around with my DE-10 equipped.

Guess I could run the test again but finding out the exact hinderances would be a lot of running a set distance withdifferentweapons equiped and tracking the time. Never seemed worthwhile to me when I did the first tests. But I have been thinking about the speed difference from kneecap shot if I had a pistol equipped? Would I be faster or slower then the target after the kneecap if I kneecapped and ran with a pistol

Ah, so you've actually done this test yourself I see. I'm curious how big of a spread of distances there was (roughly) among the race participants? Was it just a few meters or was it a huge difference? Just from my own subjective observations, it seems like I am covering a lot more ground with each step while I have my pistol equipped than with my rifle. My toon looks like it's taking these little baby steps with my rifle (kind of looks like a hobbit scurring about), but with my pistol I am running at an impressive-looking gait.I agree that it would take a lot of testing to figure out the exact hindrances, and the differences in lag times among the participants might make it very difficult to see what is actually happening on the server. I was watching my alt running from my main toon's perspective the other day (I had two instances of the game running), and I was definitely seeing a very different thing than was actually happening in "real time" from the alt's perspective! I had clearly stopped running from one toon's perspective while from my alt's perspective I kept running for several meters.

As for your kneecap shot idea... what a great idea for a test. Personally I've been so disappointed with that particular special that I never use it, but if was actually useful with a different weapon equipped... hmmm....

There should be slings and holdsters in this game.

Whatever happened to that idea?

graphics department is otherwise committed. It is still floating around but it is more of a if we find the time we will do it (read as "I have a free weekendbecausethe spouse is mad at me") not a priority
