So I just got Headshot3 and I noticed the damage isn't much higher, if higher at all. So can someone tell me what the differences are? Is it HAM costs? Speed? what?

I touched upon this in a previous post, I got H3 a few weeks ago and was disappointed I use H2 in long fights, far better HAM/Damage ratio.

I was under the impression that your damage is capped by whatever gun you're using. If you're using a lower quality gun, HS2 and HS3 will appear to do close to the same amount of damage. If you upgrage to a E11 or a T21, I'm pretty sure you'll see the difference between HS2 and HS3.

Laser rifles have a huge variance. It is possible it is linked to that.

A large variance like that can also make observed results more difficult to track. The larger the variance the more results you would need to guarantee a truly representative sampling.

I can tell you for a fact that it doesnt matter what gun you use, max damage is max damage. My max damage with head3 is only about 200 more damage, again the Dam/Ham cost ratio doesn't warrant it's use. I'm almost level 4 in concealment, I can kneel 60m away and fire 3-4 head2's against any creature and still not know where I am. Not many critters are still alive after that.

I'd have to try it a bit more to be sure, but I did notice with my DLT20a, headshot 2 was almost same dmg as headshot 3. But with my new T21, headshot 3 so far seems to beat headshot 2 by quiet a bit. I have to try more to be sure as I just started looking into it last night and may have just been random good rolls that made it seem better

It might be your gun, what gun are you using? Becuase my tests with a CDEF proved this wrong. If this is so, then certain guns are bugged this way most likely.

I got this info from swgcenter.com under the special moves section. The dmg modifier only goes from 1.25 to 1.5 going from headshot 2 to headshot 3. At the same time the mind cost goes from 1.5 to 2.5. Why add so much mind cost to an attack that does'nt do much more dmg?

I agree with Overlord... was gonna say with a minimum of 20 How could ya tell if ya just haven't been having some bad luck? I mean givin the above chart saying what each gets if you get a 20 hitter with headshot 2 ye do 30 and with 3 ya do 40. Neither is alot and both ya prolly wonder if its working cause with 2 you need to do around 25 to 27 to do 40 LOL Man I neva knew how much variance a laser had but after seein it I don't even want one. 20 minimum damage.... how horrid is that, I think that weapon alone signifies the psyche of online players to actually wanna have one just for the off chance you might do 350+.

I would agree Verge, however, your damage by a weapon isn't just random, there are many other factors involved on whether your weapon hit's at max or min, or anywhere in between. At 60m which is where I fire at 99% of the time, I almost never hit for min, I can count on my hand how many times I've seen min. I generally hit for around 1k, average, you can't touch that with any other gun. I rack up over 100k exp almost everyday, which is about 4ish hours. Give or take.

Fact remains,

There a 17% damage mod increase and a 40% HAM mod increase.

I'll use head2 over head3 anyday, in any situation.

I use a T21 on Scylla and using H2 I've hit ranges from 400-2000+ with H3 I see numbers even higher than that. Almost more fun to use M2 on someone when it hits them for more than 900
