Thread: why mind healing would be good for us

Think about it, our special primarily drain mind, and in my case it is often the limiting factor. If medics can heal mind, we can spam our best specials all day long while a medic heals us!!! Pvp will be the rilfemans paradise, MINDSHOT3, blam, dead, heal, next, MINDSHOT3, blam, next.... whoohoo!!!!

No, that would suck.

We have the worst damage per second of any class in the game.

You can't one-shot everyone. Eventually people are going to learn what a "helmet" is. You'll have BLAM... and then a medic pushes a button and they are back to full mind. And then they kill you because they have double your damage-per-second output.

It would also ruin the best thing we have going.... Mind Shot 2. Right now that's the shot of doom, but a mind heal would make it worthless. Much like normal heals make pistol and carbine DOT's worthless, but pistols and carbines have other things in their favor, so they don't really care.

Mind heals would ruin us. If they implement any kind of mind heal, it should be as part of a plan to buff the Rifleman class. Add a mind heal, find, if you also increase our range to 100 meters and implement a "snare" type effect.

We get ar3 weps, and the best armor out there is Ar1, we will still get +50% dmg. Not to mention that most people only have 600-800 mind, i can get 800+ shots off regularly, and my wep isnt to great. Other riflemen can pull of 1000+ shots easy, so why will pvp be any different, the DPS doesnt matter if you 1shot your opponent.

This is a really stupid idea. I don't even have to explain why because any dedicated rifleman already knows why.

Wish I had a more tactful way to say that this is a stupid idea.

But I don't.

It's a stupid idea.

I agree with the original poster. Healing mind would help us more than it would hurt. And even tho our DPS is low at first it catches up at master. Corse we still are tissue paper vs melee. And armor pierce stuff doesnt work.

Lets see, i have two guys who say its goning to be a bad thing, and dont explain why, and one that does. Why dont the two of you that told me im a moron and left, explain why, so others will know what your talking about. Tell me why its a bad idea, and then go tell medics, since they will bitch until it gets put in the game. Face it, unless you guys explain to the devs and other players why mind damage healing is a bad idea, and how it will ruin the game, not just our class. Its going to happen unless you guys who have more expertise and know-how of a rifleman stand up and explain why it will ruin the game.

if your mind pool drains to fast, modify your stats!

Mind heals would kill rifleman as professions since we dont have anywhere close to the abilities of other professions (knock down anyone?)

btw, mindshot3? I take it you mean headshot3 and if we could be pumping out headshot3's incapping and killing like PvP gods you dont think everyone else is gonna cry for nerf, then we would be really screwd.

I will trade in unhealable mind damage for these three things:

1) 100m range

2) normal damage in melee

3) TRUE PvP stealth

First EtherTap, I never called you a moron. I said your idea was stupid. Those are two very different things.

Second, your idea is stupid because it undermines a basic foundational principle of the game. That principle is that medics heal PHYSICAL maladies. Medics heal health and action related injuries and wounds. That assumption is a basic foundation of the game. Entertainers heal PSYCHOLOGICAL maladies. Mind wounds and injuries are the province of the Entrtainer professions. When you start giving the niche areas of one class to another class and you've based core game concepts on these assumptions, that is a stupid idea.

Also, because I know it's coming, yes, rifle damage is psychological damage. You can't think straight when you've just had 946 Kilojoules injected into your cranium from 60 meters.

BTW, if you don't know what a Kilojoule is, ask your physics teacher.

Next patch you wont have to worry about HAM costs. Weapon Smiths will be able to experiment on HAM costs, meaning less mind costs.
