Thread: Sign if you think Rifleman need a special that: slows the targets movement or -60 accuracy.
Pistol has to many advantages and rifleman have to many disadvantages.
Right now, I dont see a reason or an advantage to rifle. Yes you can hit the mind pool and Yes that is a huge advantage in pvp, but pvp is just one aspect of the game. I think the disadvantages outway this ability.
SIGNED, if they nerf master rifleman this would be the ONLY thing that would make rifleman playable. Because honestly our DPS IS NOT HIGHER THAN ANYONE ELSE. Hell we dont even hit the hardest. I got creamed by a pikeman for 3700dmg through my ubeese armor.
while a pistol user can consistently hit targets at 64 meters away while runnin gat full speed, doing backflips and firing over his shoulder
lol.. while that sounds really funny it is entirely untrue. you probably dont have much exp using a pistol, so i can tell ya from being a expert gunfighter that at 64m range we miss about 1/2 the shots we fire. although we fire much faster which might give it the appearance of "consistently" hitting targets.
look at the "effective range" of your weapon and you'll see the range you should be at for it to be most effective. rifles are around 60m and pistols around 30m.
but yer right, having to be prone to increase your accuracy is just a small payoff for being able to do 4k-5k shotswith a T21 rifle.

Trust me you hit just as much as we do from 64 meters out. I forgot to log the tests, but Ill do it again, so I can show you, you hit just as much as we do. Or better yet, Ill talk to a master rifleman, and a master pistoleer. Ask them to log for 10 shots each. At 64 meters range. Most likely a CDEF so you dont die. No AIM, and the accuracy will come out near the same.
The results of that test are depressing and all the more reason why we need this done PRIORITY ONE .
Seperate the gun classes by giving us Rifleman the increased range and more importantly the accuracy at range that is supposed to be inherent in our class - these are supposed to be our defining strengths . Right now those strengths are NOT there and the only thing making our class playable are the huge DOTs that are a non-healable pool specific attack .
A Pistoleer shooting effectively at 64m is assanine . That would be like us Rifleman doing 900 point Headshots point blank with a bonus to defense vs. melee . The accuracy and range issues need addressing ASAP . I hope you agree , correspondent , that these are our number one priorities . Let me know whatcha think ... if these two issues ( range and accuracy ) are not our main concern right now , what do you think is ?
Thanks
Jon
We do have an attack that that does what you are wanting "suppression fire". It lowers the posture of the target, problem is it does'nt do the job of lowering the posture very well, I think it is broken. IF it is'nt broken it has a very low % chance of lowering posture.
My favorite tactic for fighting npcs with blasters is using flurry shot on them while they are kneeling or prone. Dizzy will knockdown the oponent if they change postures. So basicly you hit them withflurryshot while they lie prone then you move out of range to about 70 meters. The npc in turin will try to stand up to get in range and effectiviely knock themselves down. The nice part about the dizzy knockdown is it lasts for like 10 seconds. This tactic works real well for me.

I see some people don't know probability theory. Lets say that pistol is 1.7 fire rate (dimensions = shots per second) and the rifle has 5. That makes effectively 3 shots to the rifles one. If your odds are 1/2 for each shot then your odds of a hit in those 3 is now 1-(.5)^3 whichis 7/8ths of the time you will hit. Is the rating of the rifle that good of a probability? I think this, more then anything, explanes why we have to have a lucky first shot.
We need suppression fire to work! I've gotten into fights with other Players with pistols and they beat me in seconds because they knock me down easily. A Rifleman should be able to solo, and we can't! We are at a terrbile disadvantage against all other Players, theres no player that we have an advantage over because most can knock us down or fight so close our weapons arnt' effective. It's unfair. I think Suppression fire might make it better, that way we could keep people pinned down and move up so close that we could fire at them (although it wouldn't be very accurate) but otherwise it's not fair, pistoleer is too powerful.
