I am a Master Doctor/Combat Medic/Novice Rifleman who has a few points to spend in Rifleman. So, knowing this, and that I'm a Rodian, if I have only 9 Skill points to spend, where should I spend them. Or 13?

I'm pretty knowledgable with things medical, but things martial not so much.

Thanks for your time.. And If you're on Intrepid, look me up..

if u only have noivce there no real point noivce rifleman not very good but if i was to spend point id go for one in rifle abilites and the sniping tree since 13 point wont last long. combat medic on his own very good u just keep urself alive use headshot 3 with a good speed slice laser rifle

With 13 points you basically ge the choice of 3 choices on one line like 0-0-0-3.... or spread it out over 2 choices 1-0-0-1. I would recommend just get all 3 in rifle speed, which uses combat experience. Or you could get all the points in the first line 3-0-0-0 this will give you high accuracy and HS3. Get a speed sliced weapon with a near 33% speed pup and that should cover the speed tree at least without actually grinding it... Ideally I don't think Master Doctor and CM really complement each other well

With so few points I would not suggest Rifleman at all. There are two major branches that you will need even to dabble in Rifleman. That is Accuracy and Rifle Abilities. Otherwise you will have a slow firing but accurate weapon, or a decent speed but inaccurate weapon. Especially with targets that close on you.

I would suggest either a melee profession or maybe Pistoleer where you will have enough speed that your average damage will be decent. Especially considering the number of melee MOB's in the game.

Not to discourage you, but Rifleman is not a very good profession until you reach the upper levels. Something you will not be able to do with only 13 skill points. At a minimum I would consider a 4/1/3/4 as the playable and enjoyable level for a Rifleman.

ok, you should dabble your points in a diff profesion, unless you want to shoot once every 10 seconds

Yes, rifleman dabbler.. not a good use of skillpoints. Go get some swordsman, they hit the mind and are much better in the low levels than rifleman.

And what's your FoE guild stand for?

Ok. I will look into the Pistol line for sure, but may try the accurate but slow approach. I may also try to shake loose a few more points in CM. We'll see.

and FOE on the Intrepid Server stands for Federation of the Elite.

From one dabbler to another (although I am going for Master Rifles) here's my experience with the most useful abilities:

Conceal shot (x/1/x/x Rifleman) is excellent. The mob doesn't know what hit them. Literally.

Pistol Melee Knockdown (x/x/x/1 Pistoleer) is amazing. I never knew how useful a knockdown was until then.

Flushing Shot 2 (x/x/3/x Rifleman) was the first AoE attack I got, and it's pretty good. It's slow, and lots of MOBs will aggro you, but if you ahve a good rifle, and the MOBs are low level, you can drop them all in two shots (one to aggro you, one to kill them).

Until you get to Master Rifles (or even Master Rifles/Master Marksman) you're going to be slow. Conceal Shot with a 5.6 Rifle and x/x/x/2 I shoot once every 10 seconds. Flushing Shot2 with a 3.6 Rifle and x/x/x/2 I shoot once every 3-4 seconds I think.

Niiight, that's a name I've not heard in a long time...

Yup, thats me. I came back this summer, started on my Wanderhome character, and I just didn't feel at home with it, so I restarted with some friends on starsider.
