Greetings fellow Rangers,

I have been bored at work lately and I have spent a lot of time going over different templates and seeing what would be the best one for my playing style. Point-wise I kept finding out what I wanted required more points that my Ranger skills would allow. I could not bring myself to do away with Ranger completely. This is what I came with.

BH 0344

I like hunting big game and want attacks that will be useful against both Creatures and PCs. I am a Rebel Ranger and know that once the crackdown begins full force I need to be able to protect myself in the wild agains ANYTHING!

I am still a ways off from reaching my goals in any of these trees, but this is what I am shooting for. I want to be able to hunt the best creatures, with some of the best weapons skill out there.

Please give me some feedback on this. I am interested in knowing what the Ranger community thinks of this. Thanks to all of you.

Interesting Idea, but for all you get for master marksman, a few plusses in the weaps skill, they really dont help out with BH.
1) you will rarely use a rifle again, so that line is pretty much useless
2) ranged support is very useful, warning shot and threaten shot are almost essential to any ranged fighters skills
3) the scatter pistol, while pretty good, doesnt really do that much more than a good FWG5, and the DX2 while broken will still give decent acid damage. Eye shot is useless in PVE.
4) the carbines in both BH and Carbineer are HAM hogs (heheh i made a pun) they will drain your life.
5) the LLC rocks, although some of the tougher critters have good electricity resistance.

keep in mind I was a BH for a while before I quit and went to be a ranger. BH is good, but you could use the extra skill points that are kinda useless in marksman to place in brawler to up your melee defense, when the critter charges.
Also, the cool camps are not that bad...but, they are not worth a whole lot in the scheme of things.

You have the seed of a great template and these are just my opinions. however, if you do this template and have fun, then my opinion is secondary

Thanks for the quick feedback. Like I said I am still a good ways off, but would like to get away from the usual templates. Thanks for the BH imput. The special attacks and weapons are very attractive (I still like the idea of having an LLC...) I will take a look at some other thinks I was tossing around and see how they hold up compared to this one.

I am actually interested in getting into some PvP, so that might convince me to lean towards the BH. Who Knows? If there are any other Rangers out there with ideas, examples, or templates of their own (or at least part), please let me know. Thanks.
