Thread: What's gonna happen to all us RANGER/RIFLEMEN when they changet the pre-requisites

I just thought about this last night after i completed my RANGER/RIFLEMAN template


i mean i have marksman 4-0-0-4 and now i hear that a pre-req maybe the carbine tree of marksman.........





TELL me this what is gonna happen to all us without carbine templates are we gonna get a free skill respec??


or are we gonna be nerfed and left with lost xp and more grinding to get to our original profession.













i'd be interested to hear the official side of this!

no i just reckon they will adjust your ranger 2 the necessary so you will lost master scout and will automatically have the pre reqs for ranger

Probably be like some of the changes, you will be unable to mose till you reallocate your SP into the new template. Thats what they've done in the past. Still hope they choose not to go with the Carbines line, I've been building my rifles collection and don't want to be hamstrunf with x4xx carbines I'm not going to use.

I'm not sure why everyone is so worried about master ranger master rifleman.......currently master commando master rifleman and that requires me to waist 15 sp on novic brawler alone.....if you were thinking of keeping your master scout with ranger then I see where the questions arise, but from the way it looks the melee rangers are the ones who are going to be hurting with carbines

If you're really concerned about it, I recommend using some leftover skill points in Carbineer. I recommend 0440 that way you'll pick up improved crippling shot for a snare, improved suppression fire for an area snare, and improved chargeshot for a knockdown. Along with that you'll have yourself some ranged and melee defence and also a bunch of general ranged accuracy.

As armourboy said, they have never 'enforced' you to legalise your template after a pre-req change, they just leave you to keep it as is even if you have't met the new pre-requisites. HOWEVER, that does mean you won't be able to take any further skills/make changes to your template without first bringing it into line with the new pre-reqs.


In other words you can keep your MScout/MR/M Rifles with Marksman 4004 after the revamp. But if you ever wanted to change anything, you would have to take the carb line first before it would let you complete any other skills boxes.

My guess would be, like they did with the CU, you will automatically "learn" the Carbine tree. I know after the CU, my Pikeman/Ranger acquired the Two Handed line in Brawler with the Pre-req change.


If getting Carbines IV will put you over the limit on SP, you'll still automatically get it, you'll just be stuck in place until you drop enough skills to get you back in the positive for SP.

won't you also lose 2 lines of reqs in scout? you could just move those over once revamp hits...

If they leave it at Exploration and Carbineer, Rangers will lose 3 lines of pre-req in scout.

The proposed prerequisites are Scout 4xxx (Exploration IV) and Marksman xx4x (Carbines IV).
