I am not new to the profession, having Mastered Ranger shortly after the CU, using NO /respec to do it. Actually all I needed was Fronteiring IV when the CU hit, and was grateful for that being able to be filled with Scouting XP instead of the old Survival XP.
I just fell into Ranger, Scout was my first profession, and I enjoyed it, so I just continued onto Ranger. I love being a Ranger, I think its a unique character class and fun to play. I like being rare. Though with the news of the revamp, we are less rare than we used to be.
I am of split-mind when it comes to the revamp. I am really looking forward to freeing up some skill points to apply to FS skills. But I am lamenting the loss of Area Track. That has got to be one of the handiest skills in the game. Just the other day I was using it to help a group on Dathomir find Sith Shadows for thier quest. They were happy to have a Ranger in their group that day.

Unamed Garments and stinky Bothans? Something tells me that there are a few in-jokes I haven't encountered yet...

area track is lame...im glad the devs have shown us some love....can they ever actually be praised for doing some work for the good?

Area Track has also come in handy for helping my CH friends looking for babies. I still think its a ueseful skill and I am gonna miss it.

i dont know...it used to be good...it seems a lot less effective now

And there are a LOT of in-jokes. The "Unamed Garments" refers to the Ranger vs. Tailor War on Hawtpants. The "stinky Bothans" is a lie but that is to be expected with all the Rodians around that haven't yet been hit by the bug zapper.

Welcome, as far as area track, i was out on Dath last night looking for sith pirates and so forth to farm a few of those tracking thingies for the 'capture commander' quest. I noticed that the radar give's you information at around 200-250meter, I was tracking for anroud 500-550 with area track...so it is working to a point, and it did come in handy.
