Thread: How do u get trapping xp?

well i threw about 20 traps on this lvl 71 gurk and i am lvl 72 and still could get the trap to work on it........anybody else having this problem

what is yourtrapping level?
traps aren't like other weapons. with novice scout, all you can trap is low-level creatures. To trap high-level creatures (70-72) you need to have at least 2 or three boxes in Ranger trapping, or some very good dweezel.

well i am lvl 72 right now............and only got 4x44 in scout so nothing in trapping ...........how would i get lower end creature or i need to get lower lvl ones? and i am master rifleman/master marksman/ 44x4 scout and lvl 72 right now

You need to go after the creatures outside of Mos Eisley first. DO NOT SHOOT THEM! just trow your trap at a CL1-5 and kite it. when the trap lands you will get Xp. this is going to be tedious and boring until you get your Trapping mod higher by going through the trapping tree.
The only other way is to drop your CL down to where your trapping Mod is...which is always a option but not liked by anyone.

ahh i see........ i got some the trapping food also if it help +20 in trapping

then try going after CL15's then. if none of the traps hit go lower until one actually does. Then you will know what CL you should be able to start getting xp out of with the food.

Try going to a city on a starter planet (like Moenia, Theed, Mos Eisley, Coronet, etc). If you walk outside town, you should see some low level creatures. Throw some traps on them to get trapping xp. As you get higher up the tree, you can trap higher level creatures. Using Dweezle (a food that gives a trapping bonus) will let you trap higher level creatures as well. Normally, you will want to gain your trapping xp on creatures that have a CL similar to your trapping skill mod. Given your high CL, you should be able to quickly level up the trapping boxes as the low level creatures won't give you much trouble.

yeah i am working on 4434 in the trapping box...........looking for the right lvl now

I would say about 25- 30....i cant remember exactly what the trapping mod is at.
