Thread: Why Jedi Master Lightsabers should get a Creature Harvesting Bonus

What it boils down to is this:

A lightsaber is about the most precise cutting implement out there. If anyone can strip the maximum of meat off of a creature it would be a Jedi. With the force to guide and steady his hand he could literally waste mere molecules of meat in his harvests.

Soo, I say give Jedi a +200 Harv mod at MLS.

Why stop there? As long as they are grouped with anything - another jedi, a pet, that stump over there, a ratty shirt, whatever... they should get a 500% bonus to their harvest too. And it applies to themselves AND everyone else in the group, so not *required* to have a 2nd jedi in the group to make sure both jedi get the bonus.

And they can shoot lazers from their eyes as well and magically separate hide from meat from bone, allowing them to be the only class in the game to harvest more than one resource from a kill!

Cmon now, Jedi don't have lazer eyes, lets not go overboard here. However, Master Powers Jedi can use their lightning to cook said meat and get the following:

Lightning Grilled Steak, Health +700, Health Regen +200, Action Regen +200, Mind Regen +200, Ranged Def +75, Melee Def +75, Duration 45:30, filling 50%, Uses 27

That does lead into an interesting idea........why Scout / Ranger craftable camp food?

I think that the Master LS Jedi should merely have to brandish the lite stick and animals will fall over dead, knowing that resistance is futile.

Oh rats, wrong Star thingy there - oh well, you catch my drift.

After said creature is dead, the Jedi; Maker knows they are all powerful and the neatest thing in any Galaxy, rated above sliced bread with peanut butter: should by rights be able to harvest all three resources, cook them, make them into super Jedi foods, and reap the benefits of the long arduous hours of macro grinding.

if you used a Lightsaber to cut meat off the bone, it would get cooked while it's being cut off. and chefs don't want to buy pre-cooked meat.

This is actually a debatable point (which I actually had a 3hour discussion over while standing in line for EpIII on release day). To my knowledge, if a Jedi cuts swiftly (as he no doubt would, look at his saber speed AND general Melee speed mods) he would only risk cooking the outer milimeter or so. Hardly a problem for a chef, as that outer layer would actually serve as a better long-term storage system than anything a mere Ranger could do.

He actually has a point here.

If a jedi must be the most powerful defender, must heal better than a master doctor, etc. - then what right do we have to outharvest them?Pop-tarts were just a test, now the root variety will be given to the jedi. Can't have rangers out-trapping them, can we?

Uhhh...why should Jedi have to harvest a critter? Why wouldn't the resources, or subsequent food, just magically appear in their inventory? What kind of person should have to use a command to harvest?
