Thread: So Does Camo Kit Quality Actually Matter?

Howdy!
So new to my ranger adventure was the discovery that camo kits can be experimented on, certain stats mattered ala most every other crafting profession, etc.. etc..
So does the quality of the camo kit have any bearing on its effectiveness? or is this like smuggler tools where you can increase the quality of knives etc.. etc.. but it has 0 effect.
On a related note. what exactly is the benefit of using a camo kitcompared to simply masking your scent on any given planet?

experimenting increases the number of charges per kit. I've gotten up to 17 uses one time. Camo is better than mask scent as mask scent only allows you to avoid creatures, camo allows you to hide from NPCs and creatures.

If you experiment on Camo Kits, you end up with more uses per kit.
Example. Typically, a Dathomir Camo Kit would give me 6 uses per kit. I experiment (quantity, only option), and I got 14 uses per kit. Very nice.

Hey man.
Camo can be experimented on to give more charges per pack.
Differences between camo and mask is that mask is only for creatures (camo is suposed to work against npcs too). Camo can be used without spending any skill points in any profession (/grumble) aslong as you have a kit in your inventory. Camo also has a better chance of success most of the time in my experience.
It is debatable whether the benefits of camo is enough to justify the resource hunt/allocation and time to craft. Mask being free is a very attractive alternative to most of us.

Camo kits can be experimented for number of uses. OQ is the only stat that matters. The actual effectiveness does not seem to be affected. It is worth experimenting on the kits (if only to cut down on how often you need to craft them) but it's probably not worth saving up perfect resources to do it.
As for the difference between camo and maskscent, camo is slightly more effective and works on NPCs (some of the time). Camo also requires camo kits while maskscent is resource free.

It's all good, ty much, part of the reason why I went ranger was to avoid the whole trolling nonsense responces that are more prevallent in "other" (wink wink, nudge nudge) professions.
