Thread: Basic question re Rangers choice of Weapon

Is it correct that when hunting i'm best of with a kinetic rifle rather than an energy rifle ?


I'm Cl39 Novice Ranger/Novice Rifleman.


At level 40(i hold back my levelling cause i dont want to much unbalance between Trap mod and Rifle mod)i qualify for severalpowerful rifles and i like to hear any advice on which to go for and their prime use.


Should i buy two: one Energy for NPC/PvP and Kinetic for Critters ? - or is it more complex than that

It's more complex than that. Just like how some armor has better protection against energy, some has better against kinetic, you'll find certain creatures will have their natural armor absorb more of one type of damage than the other. I actually have two identical pistols. One does kinetic, one does energy, and using the combat spam, I see which one is actually doing more damage and I adjust accordingly. We used to be able to see their resists, but now we can't. I'd love to see their resists again.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.
