Curious, how long does ranger take to grind?

and for grinding, should i harvest all bone ( for tent making) or even it out between bone/hide?

and whats the best way to go up the trapping line?

about 15 to 20k hide,
10 to 15k bone
10k metal

I think that should get you camps,

With trapping, get yourself buffed and throw wire mesh traps on the same rancor, kwi, kamurith over and over again, you should finish all 4 boxes in 2 hrs.

Scouting...well, just kill/ harvest and always have mask scent on while visiting Dath.

It can be done quickly....

grind away, get in, get out, and let all of us other rangers have our fun.

The best way to grind Ranger is to enjoy the ride and not really "grind". Ranger is a great proffession to play out. It's more about the journey than the destination and if you're just holo grinding, you're kinda cheapening it. That being said, the best way to make the Rangers stronger is to get rid of the people who can't appreciate the proffession for itself.

Okay, so if you're grinding, don't worry about what resource you gather. You get the same XP per unit. Just kill a whole bunch of things and harvest away. As for trapping, the best thing to do is to trap. Set up like 6 traps or so in your toolbar, find a creature that you can kill even if your take a few shots. Try to bleed the creature and damage it as much as possible before it attacks, then launch all your traps and then kill it. Harvest the creature and repeat.

Best way through scouting XP is to mask your scent and drive around a high level planet and reapply camo/scent as possible. Easy and cheap, and this is just the worst kind of way to get XP. Shame on you if you do this.

For camping, just make a camp and sit there and make lots of camps while you're in the camp. You get wilderness survival XP just for making a camp. Again this is the cheap and easy way to do things. A good (and not cheap) way to get Wilderness XP is to fish while in a camp. The best way is to try to set a camp up right near the water and see if you can fish from right on the border of the camp. Either that or fish, catch a fish, run back to the camp, then run back to the water and fish.

Okay that's it. You're now that much closer to walking through a proffession that's a lot of fun to go through at a normal pace. I hope this helped.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Harvest anything and everything you kill. The higher the CL the better.

Camping is an incredibly slow way to get your scouting xp. Harvesting is the way to go, and can be profitable as well if you harvest the right things. See if there's a valuable creature resource currently in shift in your galaxy, and form a group to hunt whatever drops that resource. Get scouting xp, get weapon and combat xp,make friends, and make money all at the same time. If you can find another Ranger willing to show you the ropes, so much the better. Use this time to learn how to hunt well-- morons may just rush in and aggro everything in sight, but Rangers don't. And before you know it, you'll be able to hunt the gorax alone (if you want), or if you're not into the solo thing, you'll be a valuable member of any hunting group.

Heh, no, not ANY of the creatures, every last single one. And since you're grinding to Master Ranger, load up a crate or two of P-Darts and if you havesome friends go out with them. If not, get in a grinding group, tell them you're grinding to Master Ranger and you're going to be trapping. Tell them you'll be tossing P-Darts and they're great snares. If no one complains, and they shouldn't, especially when they see just how great snares they are, when someone pulls, toss a P-Dart, then shoot whatever you use. Then harvest. If you're hunting something without bones, pull the hides. If you're hunting something with bones, pull the bones. That way you have the components to put in your factory to make more P-Darts.

If you don't have a factory, no worries, just find a ranger who does (I do on Bloodfin, and my rates are reasonable (basically, you give me the components and I'll give you crates, no charge)). This way you're maximizing your XP for trapping AND scouting AND your weapon.

Yes, it's better that you level trapping along with the other lines at the same time. However, if you're doing this in a group they're most likely going to be getting CL80 missions so the creatures will be difficult for a Novice Ranger to trap. Dweezel might help though by raising your trapping skill.

As a recent novice ranger le me say that Dweezel helps out ALOT with CL80's. I am only CL21 at the moment (my ranger alt that is) and I am getting between 1k-2k trapping xp with each application and hitting about 80% of the time.
