Thread: New idea for Ranger Harvesting.
Give rangers the ability to harvest more than one resource from an animal at a time.
Scouts (All the way from novice scout to master scout) retain the ability to harvest only one resource.
From Novice Ranger to Field Bioscience 2, Rangers can harvest 2 resources from a creature (If it has 3 resources, ie hides/meat/bone), and 1 otherwise. Once the Ranger hits Field Bioscience 3, they can harvest ALL resources from any creature they harvest.
Another idea (Which I actually like better, now that I think about it).
When a player becomes a novice ranger, their Harvesting is 'downgraded' to the level of a scout, but can harvest ALL resources from the creature. IE :
If a novice scout is able to harvest 7 units of bone/meat/hide from a creature, and a master scout is able to harvest 14 units...
Then a Novice Ranger is able to harvest 7 units of EVERYTHING on the corpse, and a master Ranger is able to harvest 14 units of EVERYTHING on the corpse.
Don't tell me I'm the only one here that thinks it's silly that we can't harvest all? I mean, hunters all over can do this. They've been doing so for hundreds and hundreds of years; back when prehistoric man would fashion tents out of hides, tools out of bones, and food out of meat, they'd rarely just harvest one resource from their prey.
For scouts, a 'lesser' ranger, I can see how they would only be able to gain one resource from their kill, but we rangers should be masters of survival, hunting, and know the ins and outs of all the creatures we kill. We should be able to harvest everything! Let nothinggo to waste![]()
Good idea, Khyron2k.
