Thread: Heads up on all current Ranger changes on TestCenter (long)
That's a 70k increase in both scout xp lines for a total of 140k.
A 70k increase in trapping line.
And then a 50k DECREASE in Frontiering.
I guess I'm the moron that wasted my time getting the 200k survival xp out of the way. I thought the xp requirements were good the way the were.
Tracking is the new name for the Field Bioscience line. All the old stuff is there, the things I added above are new.
Frontiering was, and still is, the tree for camping. ![]()
WOOT*
This made me excited. I was debating on quiting do to lack of quality in my TKA and Ranger proffesions. Ah this may be a selling point for me.

I dunno, I'm a bit disappointed. These xp changes were a total stealth nerf and no one else is bothered but me.

I noticed that too. I wonder how that will affect those of us who have already completed those tiers. If I lose those skill boxes, they better monetarily compensate me for all that NPC training that I had to resort to.
If you are Master Ranger or completed the boxes already, they won't be going back and "knocking" you down. Someone explained it in another post, but basically the game will see you have already spent the Skill Points for that box and won't be going back to check if you got it before the patch when it comes.
Basically it won't be checking "experience" you got previously, but the current exp you have when changes go into effect. So if you already have learned Wayfaring IV and Field Bio, should have no worries ![]()
Of course it is Sony and their game and they have been known to do whacky things /shrugs
In lieu of going faster, if I was allowed to cut off burst run (i.e., not use it to full duration) and then use it again fairly soon, instead of a dumb timer, I'd be happy I guess.
Someone prove me wrong that burst run efficiency is worthwhile?
Thanks,
Yea, the extra burstrun made me happy ![]()
Of course, I'd be happier if it made it last longer, or less wait between runs, rather then less HAM cost.
The extra xp cost doesnt really bother me, as it was WAY easier to level Ranger trees than any tree in the combat professions. Except survival, which had to be the most boring grind of them all ![]()
I already never notice the "cost" of burstrun, just the fact that I can't turn it off and have to wait forever to be able to use it again, and no good indication of when we will be able to use it again.
Where is the bar that shows how "tired" I am? As far as I can tell, there isn't one and efficiency doesn't seem to have an effect on it. Burstrun also doesn't seem to be consistent for me lately. I used to be able to run over 1k over hills and such before I got tired, now sometimes I feel like I barely go 500m over flat ground and other times I seem to go 800ish meters over mountains.
I've noticed an inconsistency also. Try not to think about too much hehe.
I think burstrun should have a visible timer. If you cancel it before the timer runs out, you can use it again immediatly for the remaining time. The timer should also regenerate while its not in use, starting from the remaining portion you have left. IMO, this would make burstrun much more effective.
