Thread: The Ranger Information Network is alive on Kauri

As of last night, The Ranger Information Network was introduced to a small portion of the populace of Kauri.
This is a public chat channel created to not only provide resource information to scouts and rangers, but to provide a place where crafters can easily get in touch with those scouts and rangers to get the resources they need to make their goods.
The channel isn't permanent, so when nobody is in it it goes away. Therefore, a few rangers (and hopefully more rangers and scouts will be willing to do this) have put it upon themselves to start the channel if it isn't already up. Here's how:
right click a chat tab->join channel->kauri->chat-a public.....->create channel
then, simply type in RIN as the tab name, and ranger information network under channel title.
To join or to check it the channel is up already:

It's as easy as that. I'd like to encourage all the scouts and rangers on kauri to drop in and stay a while. With everyone pitching in, we can have a great channel where anyone who needs help with scout/ranger related issues can get it, where crafters can easily find a scout or ranger willing to take on harvesting contracts, and where a bunch of like-minded players can have a good time.

These channels really are a nice idea (we've had one on Eclipse for a while). It's almost like a guild chat for Rangers and such. It's actually at the level on Eclipse that non-Rangers know about it and occassionally check in for resource info.

Whenever I'm online, I've been starting a channel on Lowca. Hey, all of you Lowca Rangers (especially the LRC), we should use this.

thanks for the kudos guys! Kimi and I (both Kauri masters) thought it would be a great idea to get this going. I beleive (and please correct me if I'm wrong

Thanks for the info on this channel. I made novice Ranger last weekend and I've been trying to make contact with other Rangers on Kauri. If one of you is going to train me for masterthen I should be hunting with you and learning from you.

We had the same thing on Chilastra, but each Ranger had a specific planet that he was assigned to, for gathering information about each resource. Then emails were sent out to all Rangers on the list.
Was very helpful for resource shifts and finding information on best hides etc to hunt for. I don't know if any of the Chilastra Rangers would like to do this again but if so, send me an email or post here to get something going on our server again.

I was approached for this sort of thing on Wanderhome last night. I had to decline, but I wish them the best!

I've been doing this in Eclipse all by myself (ALL of the planets). Hard to find help sometimes and I can't quite get folks to figure out how SWGCraft.com works 
Done it so often now it onlytakes about 3 days to complete. One if I stay on for a 12 stint (Sunday, if nothing is going on).

Sorry I can't really help on this but a lack of combat skills makes it hard to even hunt durnis

Just wanted to say how great this was working out on Kauri so far! It's only been up since Sunday, but it already has a good response. I never knew there were so many rangers on Kauri! We may be up to 10 now! Maybe we can all organize a harvest/hunt soon.
Anyway, there have been lots of novices looking for information and help, and lots of crafters requesting resources. It really helps out with trying to sell your harvests, and the BE's and Chefs that have been on there seem to like it too.
