Hello rangers,

I'm a scout working on Novice Ranger and I have some questions about resource selling and pricing. Let's use an example, I've been hunting rancor on Dathomir and the leathery hides aren't that great but I have several thousand of them I'd like to sell. Someone made me an offer of 3cpu. Should I be basing prices on the OQ rating or should I also take into effect how effing hard it was to get the hides?

Basically, what resource stats should I be basing my sales on and should I accept low offers I'm not that satisfied with because the stats are low?

Thanks a lot for your time!

with the hide you have if dont really need it id say offer him somthing in the nieborhood of 6 cpu cause you have it already and its better to turn it into some money rather than none but in the future watch out for quality of stuff like the other guy said and weight that in with how hard it is to get. but really you have to determine what its worth to you.

Maybe it's just me, but 3cpu doesn't seem to be worth the time/effort. Also, try to avoid working for someone who only wants resources for grinding (although there should be less of that now). The reason being, although it doesn't matter what the quality is and you can give them anything, you're still spending in-game time harvesting stuff that you'll only get 1-5cpu for, when you could be out hunting something that will give you a decent price for the time you spent hunting.

There's another thread going on about resource pricing, and there are a lot of variables that you have to consider, so I won't really echo those.. But...

Basically, try to learn something about the profession of your buyer. I don't hunt many hides, and when I do, I hunt them all free for a friend. He tells me what he needs, I hunt it, and he always gives me free armor. I think OQ, SR, and ML are the main things that armoursmiths look for. I don't know very much about the profession at all.

On the other hand, I know a lot about meat. Bio-engineers and Chefs are my main buyers. For instance, if I find insect meat with high OQ higher DR, in the 900's, I know that chefs can use this for Vercupti. It uses 75% DR and 25% OQ stats for good filling, and I can charge anywhere between 30-60cpu for it, depending on the time it takes for me to hunt it.

I also like hunting for bio-engineers since it's pretty simple.. They use every type of meat and mostly look for the combined stats of FL, PE, and OQ. I add up those stats, and have a increasing price scale for the combined stats of >1800, >2100, >2400, >2700.. If those 3 stats don't add up to at least 1800, it's not worth hunting for me, or the Bio-Engineer. I won't give away my pricing scale (it fluctuates), but I only charge 10-15cpu for anything between 1800-2099 quality.

And of course, good Avian meat is gold. Doctors look for OQ and PE for power, and DR for charges.

In other words, what stats to look at are dependant upon what is being made, and what the buyers profession is. As for the price, it's a big variable. And yes, the price sometimes reflects on the difficulty of the creature (or the difficulty in even find any of those creatures in the first place!)

To make money harvest and sell Avian meat. On Chimaera the best stuff comes from nunas currently which is bad news so I am waiting patiently for the next resource shift. In general Avian is the best, after that herb meat for docs 66%OQ and 33%PE is what they want, you can sell all you can harvest at 30cpu.

i'd second the notion of spending time harvesting the current "it" meat on a server.

most servers are spawning something good. ...whether it's one of the hides, herb meat, or avian meat... someone wants something. learn the easy monsters on each planet that drop these things.

Nothing's worse than hearing someone's paying 100 cpu for talusian herb meat but not knowing where or what drops it.

As far as general harvested resources... if it's not spectacular OQ or other important stat... i think the meat needs something diff from OQ. ...i usually just tripple the unit amount and sell it forthat.

Because basically it's grinding resources... or filler resources for some schematic that doesn't really require what you're selling. So no use ripping someone off.

But case the server boards.... find out what's spawning. harvest a good bit of that... and then see what the market will bear. and if it's something good. ie, more than a couple people are actively seeking it. don't let people lowball you. One thing i hate is harvesting 10k+ of some meat only to have the doc try and lowball me come deal time. ...as if a doctor was hurting for money with what they charge these days.

oh well...
