I have always had an interest in exploring and animals, startede trying CH but realize now that I know the game that Ranger is for me. I am currently Master Scout / Master Marksman / Novice ranger Carbineer 4/0/0/1 Novice medic <to heal myself> . My question is, what do I drop to master Ranger and Keep Carbines? I know rifles hit harder but so far I really want to stay with carbines. Do I have to keep Master scout and marksman Now that I'm Ranger?

You only need to master scout for ranger my friend, (Beware any irish bothans responding to this thread!).

Welcome to rangerhood, hope you stay a while.

First off try the Character Builder. You can play around with different templates and see how many skill points you'll have easily.

Ranger only requires Master Scout but once you master Ranger thats 140 skill points and you only have enough to master one more profession. You could keep Master Marksmen and dabble a little in Carbines but I think you would get more out of mastering an elite combat profession.

I'd suggest dropping Master Marksmen and going Master Carbiner. As a Master Ranger, Scout and Carbiner you'll have 18 skil points leftover. That's enough for novice medic, the Ranged support lines from Marksmen or even a little CH, whatever you find helps you best.

There are 10 types of people in this world... those who know binary and those who don't.

Scarin - Eclipse Master Ranger / Master Swordsman
Siarra Oman - Noob scout on Wanderhome, home of the great ranger meet up.

I'd drop all the non-carbine Marksman skills first. You should be able to Master Ranger, Carbineer and get either Medic 1-0-0-0 OR Keep the 4 ranged support boxes in marksman.

Ehem, Arill? I will ignore that for now.

Yes you only "need" master scout for ranger. I say take what ever combat prof is fun for you. I like pistols personally. Rifles is powerful, but its a very different combat style then pistols or carbines. So do what makes you happy. What you have points for is this.

Master scout(required) master ranger, one line of weapon in marksman, and then to master that weapons elite prof. At that point you have 16 points left over. I have novice medic only, and then box one in Ranged support of marksman. With novice medic and good Stim B it suffices for combat heals.
