I tried that combination... you get a lot of strange stares when you're mind buffing the masses with a Master Ranger Tag..
(It was only for a week, and i needed the money)

right now im currently just master combat medic with apprentic carbineer and im grinding my way to master ranger....not sure if i should drop cm for carbineer

It all depends on what your ultimate goal is.... Do you know? 
(Basically PvP is ruled out as you are going for ranger... but will you be a hunter/tracker or some sort of "PvP" support character ?) I'm curious
