I was recently asked to fill an enormous (to me) hide order. I have a droid, but rarely use it. I sometimes remember to use veghash. I don't use harvesting macros, except the ones I assigned to hotkeys (/harvest bone; etc.). All of my playing time is spent with my body in front of the keyboard.
How do you people pull in these enormous hauls and how long does it take you to fill, say, a 20K order?

I use the /harvest hide; macro tied to a keyboard shortcut. Filling a 20k order is dependant on what you are hunting. I got 21k of Dant Carnivore meat (exclusively from voritors) in 1.5-2 hours when grouped with a Scout (on Sunday night). It might take a little longer to get Tat avian.

I should have specified: let's say a 20K stack of bristley or wooley hide. I've been hunting huurtons on Dantooine a lot lately, for instance, and gurrecks on Endor.

Are you a master?
The huurtons will take longer than the Gurrecks, unless a lot of high level Huurtons are spawning, and even then, the gurrecks should be quicker.
Buffs and armor should expedite the process, and grouping with another harvester will be the quickest.
It's really hard to guestimate, as there are a lot of variables, but with my playstyle, I could do it in a matter of a couple hours, with the new harvesting rules.

Not yet; two more boxes.
I group more often now than I used to, but still go it alone most of the time. Perhaps I should stick to the gurrecks.Message Edited by tekniko on 03-01-2005 11:44 AM

If you were offered lets say 15-20cpu for any quality wooly hide. I'd recommdend the following:
- If you are a master combat profession with a good weapon, you can do this solo.
- If your social or want to do it quicker, create a group with one or more combat professions.
- Add the following to your group and receive the a bonus:
- 40% bonus harvesting with a Master Ranger
- 30% bonus Harvesting with a Novice Ranger
- 20% bonus harvesting with a warm body.
If they have at least scout, they can harvest too.
The key is to be able to quickly kill the highest level missions.
Go to SWGCreatures.com do advanced search, select endor and has hide: Wooly. Search.
Resort list Decending by Challenge Level.
You should have a list of all the endorian creatures that have wooly hide, sorted from highest level to lowest. Do missisons for the highest creatures you can kill quickly and have no fear of dying on.
Now that droids are bugged I do:
/harvest hide
(ctrl)-Up
**repeat**
(all my guildies know that when I say the same thing three times in a row, I'm hunting. hehe)
I could do 20k in a buff session solo, I'm a MR / Master Rifleman with a very nasty DXR6-b.

If you are solo your droid still works fine. If you had a crapy droid and are a master... you have a crapy droid... I still get a bonus from mine.
