Here's a thought. Apologies if it's been discussed/binned/implemented before, but I can't see any effect of it in the game at the moment.
In real-life, different critters are around (ie spawn) at different times of the day, year depending on climate. For example, rodents are pretty nocturnal and reptiles tend to hunt at dusk/dawn and rest during the noon day heat. So how about adapting spawn rates to take account of the time of day - or even the time of year (rainy season, dry season)
In theory, since there is a night/day cycle on planets (and on Dath the night lasts 22 hours lol) it shouldn't take much coding wise. OK, there's no "planet clock" visible to all players, but that may not be a bad thing. After all, Rangers would probably be able to tell the rough time of day by the sun and moon - so it could easily become a new skill that won't really affect game balance, but would add to our reputation for tracking and trapping fauna.
The sort of idea I have in mind is, for example, Nightspiders on Naboo would be more frequent during darkness and less frequent during the day. Or Rill may become uncommon on Tat around noon time when they are off hiding and sunning themselves on rocks.
Like I say, this may well be in place, but I've never noticed it in the game. If it is, well done SOE for thinking of it already! If not, what do they rest of the Rangers out there think of it?

Actually, there is an in-game clock. Just hit CTRL-SHIFT-G and it will bring up a window that shows, among other things, the time of day of the planet you are currently on.

Also, I've noticed that some spawns do seem to depend on the time of day. For instance, I used to find krayts more often at night than during the day (although this was before they upped the spawns). I'm not sure if it was just random but I did notice it (i.e. I'd be looking for krayts during the "day" and see nothing and then get 3 or 4 spawns over the "night").
