Well, after using dial-up for so long, I finally took the plunge and got myself a cable modem!
This is great!
I can't wait for the next big patch to see how long it takes to download compared to my old 56K modem!
Ah, technology...

One of my (many) jobs since retiring from the Army was as a cable modem installer/cable dude.
The updates will take about 1/100 as long. I reinstalled the entire game and had all updates up and ready to rock in under 2 hours (I think). That includes loading JTL too.
I would give up my cable tv (wonder of wonders, my basic package gets HBO, wonder how?) before I would give up my cable modem.
Enjoy and realize, the game isn't as slow as you thought it was.

I have Cable and can I DL the normal stuff in about 22, so you might get even luckier! That was with out JtL just got that.
I know that I DL the new stuff so fast that its not worth it to have the background DLer enabled. In fact I have that service turned off any way...I'm a PC Tech keep my stuff tuned to the bear metal.
