The profession roles are a great step in the game, it gives everyone an opportunity to fit in some role in the group and you can mix and match different professions to make sure you can pick up lacking areas as well. Overall it's very good.
On the subject of Jedi.. you have to remember there are 5 different Jedi professions. Basically, each of them fits into a type of role. IE, LS = Damage dealer, Defender = tanking, etc.. so depending on your template your roll will vary.
As for Ranger, I'm very curious as well. I'm not sure where they fit in yet, but I'm sure we'll find out when it's on TC.
I'm excited myself to see howvarious roles play togetherandhow they all mix and match - - especially how the special moves will combine with each other at the elite levels.
For the details about each profession, that information will be easy accessible by pulling up the skills window (CTRL-S). You can't see the Jedi skill details, but I will look intowhat is possible with gettingthat information available in some way.
Currently, the Jedi testing will be done by the correspondent and his 5 chosen testers.
Rangers are another important issue. They aren't considered a core combat profession, so their role wasn't included in the combat professions role overview, but we hope to address that profession after the Combat Upgrade goes live. We'll release more information when the details start to firm up some time down the road.

Ingame money? Yes, Ranger is on nearly every server a very, very good moneymaker as of current state of the game if you do not insist on playing in some style limiting yourself in your harvestamounts (the unbuffed / unarmored crowd very likely kills noticable slower than the buff/armor type, those naturally make less money

Or if all your harvests go to guild artisans for free.
Oops sorry!
I would support the push for 3k, if we don't already get it, because that seems the most CU-centric. A weapon cert I would be content to wait for the revamp so they have the time to think it out and do it up right.

No, we need to find one Great Flaw within the system, and promote the acceptance by the Dev's that this flaw cannot wait until our Revamp.
It's probably that we will end up getting ourselves killed by creatures equal to our challenge level, which should be low if we do not get the Health Bonus that increases you "level rating" for combat in the CU perspective.

While outside Coronet getting survival xp, I was discussing with a friendly scout the other day about the rarity of Rangers and how viable we are in combat. I was stating that we would be the single most expensive class after the Combat Upgrade, and how I couldn't believe that Blair actually stated that we were not considered a combat profession. He said, and I semi-quote "Yeah, but you must make a lot of money right?"
Many of youhave this stance, that the devs said Ranger is not a combat profession, but I have never actually seen them say this. I am wondering if I missed something. If there IS a qoute where a dev said this, please show it to me as I will fight them to the death!
I have only ever seen a dev say we 'were not within the scope of the CU.'
