It's bad enough that our profession is the only now that requires a master starter prof (scout) and that our elite boxes give us little for the total skill point cost, but why oh why is it more expensive to respec to master ranger???
I used to be master ranger on Bria and now I want it back! Only thing the respec cost is killing my point pool fast.

I think i saw a thread about this somewhere recently but could not find it...

That's a good question that I am not sure we have seen an official response to.

It's almost certainly a bug. Or a really bad prank.

You can play the system pretty well, especially during double xp week. I've been going out with guildies and murderizing my way across endor, filling up as many boxes of Marksman, Brawler, and Medic as I can. Then at the end of the night I respec all those points into an elite and repeat. Another way is to get a novice weapons profession and fill in the first tier, drop into Ranger, repeat the next night.

Its hard though, because I have been so busy trying to get enough for Ranger I havent really tried any alternative professions.

yes i'm seriously pissed now that i can't go back to master ranger from MBH! they need to fix this and fix it now.

they respec thing tells me i have 7 "elite points" and i can't even buy Wayfaring4 wich costs TWO(2) damn skillpoints!

if i get stuck with MBH on may 5th, someone will have to ban me from the forums.

quite honestly, i think it's becuase they're pissed we made them realize we were a combat profession after all.

Kind of hard to deny it when you look at theevidence of someone trying to get ranger XP without any weapons.

The extra point per box is representative of the extra difficulty requiring Master scout. The extra cost of those 2 lines of SP means there is less overall to put into other professions, and since they can't give us bonus SP, they give us bonus EP to balance it.

Plus the extra points means that if you spec out of 1 and a half lines of Ranger you can pick up another Novice box for "free".

The first boxes of the scout xp based boxes are extremely easy to get, especially with the 2x bonus. By grinding the low boxes and then banking the EP with the respec, and then regrinding them, you can save up enough EP to go from Novice to Master combat profession and never train anything but Frontiering I and II over and over.

what you describe sounds like a 'work-around', and i hate workarounds because it excuses poor performance by the DEVs.

there is no justification for Pre-CU Master Ranger, respecing only his/her ranger skills to try another Elite profession, and then NOT allowing them to go back to their Pre-CU profession. I've already f'ing ground out all of Ranger, why in hell are we the only profession to have to do it twice?

I want the Skill Points back that were robbed from me. And i wont let poor DEV performance slide by 'working-around' it. As i stated, I hate letting DEVs just get away with being piss-poor. Give mewhat is Rightfully Mine. Or tell me to shove it and i'll cancel right now.

Well, either the devs hate us, or the respec points are somehow based off the skill points used for each box....

I respec'd Monday from master ranger and got the extra points for those boxes. So really the extra cost only applies to people who want what we have, the coolest prof in the galaxy, and want it the easy way. Well, I went to master rifleman and had 1elite point left, which it saved. It only took me a day and a half to get back my 8 ranger boxes back, no more survival xp!!! With all the killin' I was doing, I had 1,200,000 rifleman xp stocked up, so I respec'd master rifleman back to master ranger and trained master rifle! As an added bonus I also gathered 60k+ lokian leathery hide which I can sell for a load o' creds

I'm a very happy camper. (ranger. . .camper. . .sniper. . . camper. . . get it?! double pun! booyah! haha)

Elite points do not equal skill points.
