Thread: CH and Ranger with a combat dialema :s Help guys?
If you are interested in tracking babies I would suggest Ranger 0030 or even Ranger 0040 if you really like the extra harvesting mods and the ability to track players. I was MCH/Ranger 0030 for a long time pre-CU and it was an excellent template. Plus this will alow you to fit in more combat skills. Honestly, Master Ranger is very cool. But pre-CU it is really the title that was the only point, and post-CU it is still the title that is the only real point.

Thanks vorpaks - lol, it really was the cool factor with HTFB !!
How does a ranger stack up in the trapping stakes with regards to combat? For instance, i trap a mob and then send in my pets to do the damage - I have seen some posts about the darts being very effective. You rekon that having more of a combat template and only doing a bit of ranger would be a better route?
I suppose there is a bit of me that would like to have the "cool" factor of Master Ranger but you are right in what you are saying - maybe just one branch wud suit me better ![]()
If you want a challenge I think MCH/MRanger will definitely be that. You will develop a unique playstyle and tactics to succeed. In the end, that may be even more interesting/engaging to you and give the game a longer life than being a generic combat template.
Plus the idea of being the exploring Ranger, taming the elusive creatures of Kashyyyk, is very appealing to me personally. I can't wait!
Traps are becoming more useful - I think you will find the P-Dart and Adh. Mesh from scout the most useful. If you are strapped for skill points stay away from the dizzy trap in Ranger. Dizzy really only works well on NPCs... and you can't throw traps on NPCs. Good luck friend and I hope to see a new Master Ranger and keeping it post soon!

Well, i think that has made my mind up for me paks - i look forward to experiencing the wonders of master ranger very soon ![]()
Thanks for your advice - appreciated.
You'd keep your camps, give up camo, but you have full tracking ability -- except for tracking players. But your harvest is also increased. Best of all, you can track babies to tame.
MCH will give you full mitigation for battle armor. 4400 rifles will cert you for recon armor also, but you won't be complete mitigation.
I'm not sure what your CL would be though, with 4400 rifles/0430 ranger and MCH.
MCH/Master Ranger would definitely get you 80.
You'll have a lack of special attacks, but you can still use a lot of weapons since many are certed by combat level.
I think either ranger/rifles dabbling with MCH, or MCH/Mranger would be a good choice.
