well first off i mastered ranger about a week ago on the bloodfin server. this is a great community. i chose this prof for the idealogy behind it. it wasnt a holo. my first and anly holo i used was "a mysterious voice sais master carbines". i said no thanks. but anyway my point of this post was to provide a little info about conceal vs. npc's.
ive had somewhat of a success on using conceal on npc's. maybe i was just really sneaky. i was on yavin and ran into what i thought was someones mission to check it out (i didnt kill anything just curious). there were a few red dots. i was concealed and could stand face to face and not get aggroed.
after i got done on yavin i headed over to endor to help a guildie (also a master ranger) find the elusive gorax. well i was close to the dwb so i decided to stop by and check it out. i was solo of course (big mistake), but was there just mainly to check it out. i concealed just out of curiosity. i ran down the first ramp into 2 bd's. to my surprise no aggro. so i go on the next room and my conceal decided to break and all hell broke loose. i killed a couple black sun guys. it was fun getting chased all over the place by 2 sbd's, 2 bd's, 3 black sun, and a mando blood guard(i think). so i was wondering if any others have had a limited amount of success with conceal on npc's?

I have some bonuses from attachments I'm using. My conceal has relly only broked with any easy whatsoever to 1 thing...the kreetle T_T...

i was out hunting recently, looking for black sun assassins and folks... and i was really pleased with my rangering skills... not only was /conceal having a great night, didn't break once... it also helped me with these guys... i even got scouting experience when i walked up to them to loot the body of their friend...

Conceal works as long as you don't have a high negative faction with your NPC target. Once you do, they ignore it completely.
If you have a high positive faction, you run the risk of having it break and aggroing your friendly target due to the "bonus" aggro chance of maskscent and conceal.

what does it mean in the discription when it says you can use this on other players?

If you target another player and use the conceal command, it will apply a camo kit ot the player, making them concealed (i.e. maskscented). The other player's 'conceal' rating is based on your skill mod.

It follows the same GCW rules as healing does (need to be same faction and same PvP/PvE/No GCW level. If you were, make sure you had the appropriate planet's camo kit in your inventory.
