Plain and simple, we are supposed to be the hunting masters, are we not? Yet what is it that determines our hunting? It is based almost completely off another profession, our combat ones. It would make sense to me that we should have significant melee and ranged defense vs. creatures, or perhaps a passive dodge type ability that works only on creatures.

Right now we are half-assed crafters. Tracking is not so different from an artisan's resource scanning to make their things. Rangers however are an Elite profession and should shine like the others do. We are the hunting kings and queens yet strangely nothing in the Ranger skills actually grants us any significant ability directly used in killing a creature.

I'm lobbying for something someone else thought up: some kind of harvesting cert (ie: only Rangers could harvest a kill with a stat over 900, or something to that effect). We need something that sets us apart completely, not something that allows us to be 10% more effective at the things everyone can do. We've already got that in spades.

But more to your point, I find it humorous that the Creature-to-hit bonuses we supposedly get are so insignificant that no one, not even our ranger correspondent, can say whether they're working or not.
