Thread: Not so advanced planets...

I spent most of today touring the advanced planets..Kind of a vacation after filling an order for 10K of lokian herbavore meat. I started on endor at the smugglers outpost and went north until I hit the map border then I proceded west and circled the entire map...I found that after getting out of the 2000m or so mission spawn area around the outpost there were little to no creatures or lairs to be found..my area track showed that there was nothing in the area. In my trip around (I was aproximatly 1000m from the map edge all the way around) I counted a total of 16 lairs and with those lairs a total of 36 creatures or ewoks. In fact the entire time I was on that planet I only used maskscent to get in or out of the mission spawn areas and after than it was just not needed. It was the same way on Lok, I spent 4 days there and once out of the mission spawn areas around the strong hold or the imperial base there was little to no creatures. I went to dathomir, yavin 4, and dantooine and circled the map like I did on endor and experienced the same thing. Is it just me or is something just wrong with this? I for one prefer wandering off away from cities to hunt and the way it is nowmakes it almost impossible to do this. Has anyone else gone to lok on a weekend and tried to compete with everyone around Nym's Stronghold for a place to hunt? Almost every single herd of snorbals within 2000m of the stronghold is camped by a group..and it is almost as bad with the gurnasets there too. What is the answer for this..move farther out, but if you do it's just random luck if you run into a creature or not..and you are extremely lucky if you find the one you are looking for. On the advanced planets area track is almost usless because few run around outside the mission spawn areas triggering the spawns so that they will register in area track. The starting planets aren't to bad because of all the people on them but it is in my opinion kind of sad that I dont need to use maskscent, let alone conceal for advanced planets once outside mission spawn areas...Is anyone else seeing this problem? Anyway I'm done complaining for now..

It's just as bad on the starting planets.

My farm is 5km away from civilization and I cant find anything on areatrack. Kind of makes it a useless ability out in the wilderlandswhere you should need it most...

I am the master of my domain!...

Did you hear me?!..

Anybody?..

is anybody out there?...

ya I've found /areatrack to be pretty useless now outside of the 2000m city boundaries, more so on the harder planets due to less players. The problem is lairs are now spawned as you get within range so you can do a track and not find anything in 500m, then move a few meters and have alair spawn 100m away.

I remember the excitement of exploring Endor a few weeks ago, my whole radar was covered with red and yellow dots, I had to move very slow, pick which lairs to walk through and usually follow rivers for added safety. It was a challenge and something only a Ranger (or maybe a Master Scout) would have a chance at. Now the planet is empty and just a boring wasteland, not worth the trip unless you're a Creature Handler looking for a new pet :/

I think the spawn area around an individual needs to equal the detect area of /areatrack.

I love hunting way out in the wilderness and it's very disconcerting to do an /areatrack and get only my pet.

I have a house about 4 to 5K west of kor vella on corellia. Unfortunatly this is close enought to the rebel base that I can still use area track but it becomes usless around the areas that dont get alot of activity..like between bela vista and kor vellaand it makes it diffulficlut to complete some of the hunt missions because of the rarity of some of the animals...I for one have never seen, nor heard of of forest slice hounds on corellia but I still get missions for 45 of them...I would like if the they could some how change the area track to get lairs/animals off the spawn list so that you will know what will spawn in an area...because at this point until we get the track feature, area track is almost usless outside the mission spawn area.
