After a month of deliberating and changing my mind i have decide to go for Master ranger/riflman. Originally i was going to go for Master rifleman/ch but i changed my mind.

My question is, after i have got Master ranger and Rifleman thats going to leave me a whooping 18 skill points(i was only going to dabble in Rifleman but i was told this was a very bad idea). Now i have no idea where to put these, can anyone give me some suggestions please?

I was thinking maybe a little ch so could get a Creature to pin down an enemy while i sniped but im not sure now, specially since the ch nerf is approaching which means 18 points prolly wont be good enough for a decent creature.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

I couldn't decide between the two so I gave up all ranged combat and took up TKA... =)

Yeah...I would go novice medic. You can use stimpacks A + B. Nothing beats cutting your downtime with healing yourself.

I wouldn't get rid of all my CH, I think you can keep a fairly goo pet to tank still with the 18 points and only 6 are needed to keep the prof at all (you have t prereqs).

If you get med you have to spend 15 points on the novice it'self and you will be less powerful. Rifleman is NOT very good at all without a way to tank the socials. You would be better off as melee or pistol, something with KD in that case and Rifleman does NOT have a dependable KD. I does rock if you keep the tank.

One downside to the pet is that it will do health damage while you do mind damage so you won't complement each others.

Well, this is hard to say, as the next big patch is going to have changes to the Creature Handler profession and to the levels, stats, and abilities of many pets. If you spend all 18 of your remaining points on CH after the patch, you will be able to control at most a level 19 creature (you can get (3,0,0,0); (0,3,0,0); (0,0,3,0); or (0,0,0,3) with 18 skill points, and you get 12 cl at novice + 2 at tier one box + 2 at tier two box + 3 at tier three box). Currently I'd say a bantha or dewback (both level 18 I believe) make fairly decent tanks, but like I said after the big patch they are changing stuff around and I'm not sure how it will affect everything.

If you don't want to read all of that, the short answer is that I won't know what the best tank is until the next big patch hits live. I hope this helps.

Also keep in mind that BE changes are coming... sometime. They can engineer a pet to fit your level. You might be able to get a pet with good HAM but little damage (to keep the level down), and then it wouldn't really matter that you do two types of damage. However, how the BE changes will actually work is all just guessing at this point.

I also know a BE on Talus who makes a fairly good tanking Kamurra. If you are on Radiant galaxy?

It really is a very good idea to wait until after the creature changes before making CH related decisions. From what I'm told, however, creatures under cl 40 will generally not have armor. That kind of limits the tanking effectiveness if you ask me (^_^)

Shouldn't be much longer of a wait... the BE and creature changes are packaged together if I'm not mistaken, and the December publish should be this week or next. Only time will tell though

The upper parts of rifleman go nicely with a pet, especially FlurryShot2 and FlushingShot2, you get dizzy, posture change and stun and AoE. Pets pulles socials in a nice, tight area and those 2 AoE ranged take care of the rest and provides the damage. Do the #1's version on single targets. When you get master and StrafeShot2 you can go for bigger stuff that would be a real problem to a single pet normally.
