I have master scout that gives me +50 to creature harvesting, the other day I started up the Ranger tree cause I wanted to get more goods, I got to 0-0-3-0 Ranger, and then compared the amount of hides I was getting to my buddy who was not even a Master Scout, and I was only getting maybe 1 - 3 more pieces total? Is this a bug?

Are there any master rangers that are happy with the amount of harvested goods they get or do they feel a bit short changed?

I am a Master Ranger, and when skinning a Durni, you will not notice a huge difference because it is a percentage. I think it is about 40% more or so than Master Scout. Now, go skin a large creature like a graul, do this about 10 times and the hide yeild will be far more than the Master scout by hundreds of units. Do this on durni and you will have more, but not tons, its percentage, and 40% more on a creature that has a base of 10 does not seem like all that much. But skin 200 of them or 20 large creatures and then compare the total yeald an you will be pleasantly surprised.

My trade is that of a hunter, I collect hide for my guild and it is a major bonus for me and earns me a lot of credits. If your main income is not hide, meat or bone, then the extra yeild may not matter.

It's an interesting question...

A few guildies went hunting for avian meat from large Peko's and we did a comparison of yields.

In a group (solo I would harvest between 57-65) as a master Ranger I harvested 35, a master scout harvested 30 and a non-master scout was harvesting 22ish.

Each lair produced 6 peko's and we ran out to complete 10 missions (5 of us, 2 missions each)

so between a master ranger and a master scout the totals were around 2000 vs 1750( less then the math would indicate because a peko corpse may vanished to soon or a peko was smaller and only yielded 32 or so...but even then the master scout only received 28 or so.) 250 meat difference per round trip..is it worth it? ....over time?

Wasn't this something that was on the State Of Profession list? Something about there being a bigger increase for the ranger over the scout?

The gist is that many Rangers don't consider the increase to be proportional to the amount of skill points spent.
