Thread: New ranger here...
I just go Directional tracking last night and went on a trip to Endor. I have to admit my maskscent is working well now! Woot!
But I have several questions. I thought my high quality camp kit would protect me from aggro's. Nope I got incapped by some cat's while afk ![]()
And what is the distance for areatrack? It seems I can go to 128m radar and just tab to get same effect?
I also thought by this point I would be able to see special attacks on examine, not yet?
hi - none of the camps (not even the htfb) will keep agroes out. I learned this on naboo when one of those dread monkeys of luv wandered into my camp, pokedaround a bit, and attacked (apparently because I beat him at holo chess).
As you climb the ranger trees, /areatrack becomes much more useful - as master ranger, it tells me how far out and in what directioncreatures are. The maximum range for /areatrack is 500m. Yes, at first /areatrack is only slightly better than the overhead map / radar, but it become invaluable when you get to the higher levels, esp. if you are looking for rare babies or hard-to-find creatures.
Eventually, yes, you will be able to see special attacks on examine as your skills improve. You can also see things like does a creature deathblow, what is it's damage, and its base-to-hit.
I've been a master ranger for a long time now, so I don't recall at what level these skills improve (sorry), but trust me, they do geta lot more useful
