Ranger Archive

Past few days ive been really debating my template (0040 commando, master ch, novice medic) so I have been considering dropping it for atleast 0040 in ranger. For a secondary profession, I would like to be able to solo high level monsters/npcs (giant dune kimos, FS npcs, nightsisters etc). Currently im debating tka master, master swordsman, or just dropping as much as I can in CH and getting 3 or 4 in tracking. Any help/input would be appreciated

Right now with my template (which you can see in my sig) works great for what i do. I never hunted a kimo, or tried taking one down, so i cant help u there. But i can take down fs NPC's, with the help of a pet, and me healing him. I've taking down the 15k ham ones on Dant. Wasn't what i would call an easy victory, but i took down 3 or 4 before i was first incapped. When it comes to those Imperial Troopers(around 2-4k ham) i can kill em all off without a problem. They usualy spawn in groups of 4-6 or so. After a couple spawns, i take a rest and then keep going.

As far as hunting goes, i usually dont have a problem. With my pet it really helps me. Send him in, toss some traps, and fire away. Heal my pet when needed and keep tossing the traps. As long as i dont get an aggro'd im good. But thats the nice part of being a ranger. You learn to know what critters are social, and which ones will attack ya with their buddies. You will develop your own tactics over time, and be able to lure a social critter out of their group of friends and take em down. I usually sit back and wait till one wanders away from the group, send my pet it....give em a few secs....call my pet back, and most of the time the critter follows the pet right to me .

Nod, thanks...I hope to get a 2nd account soon, christmas soon if im lucky. I think for that account ill be doing master doctor and some ranger skills, leaving me without any combat skills unfortatnly, but then I could go master commando or swordsman and be my own army

Both of those combo's sound good, specially the commando/swordsman one for a combat class. I dunno if u could do it, havnt done the math, but commando/TKA would be nice to. Plus, we Rangers are pushing for some better combat mods to help us hunt, and maybe even Ranger specific weapons, so if that goes through it would definatley help.
