Im a little confused on the use of camouflage iwas hoping you could clear up. Is there any real benfit on using this over mask scent? Does it break when u go into combat with a creature/npc? How long does it last if not broken by another creature?

Also i was uterly convinced that using camoulflage had a visual effect kinda like applying cam cream to the face, I presumed this becasue i saw a human master ranger once in a cantina who had cam cream black and grey stripes cam creamon her face and i dont know of any other way of doing this. (it definately was human not zabrak with a tattod face). Am i cracking up or how on earth did she get the cool looking cam cream look. It even matched her clothing in pattern and colour.

1. I have never seen camo change the color of my toon. Cool idea, though. Would it change to desert camo on tat and jungle camo on Endor?

2. NPCs and animals can break camo just like animals can break maskscent.

3. Fighting doesn't necessarily break maskscent or camo. You can hit a MOB with either and even if all the other MOBs aggro you, the maskscent/camo may still stay.

4. I think camo lasts at least 5 times longer than maskscent when no aggros are around (I'm sure somewhere someone has run a test to find the exact length difference).

I'm going to go against the grain on this one, but I love camo. It lasts longer and works better on higher level MOBs (like the ones on Endor and Dath). I did have trouble with camo when I first started the tree since it was a much lower level than my maskscent (I see you're at wayfaring 2 so it may not work well for you).

If you're leveling, don't use it as you get less scout xp with camo than with maskscent.

Anything else ?

That is indeed what i thought camo did as in applying a visual effect depending on what planet kit was used, oh how was i disappinted when i found it it didnt. Lol you could even sell it to people just who wanted to loook cool.

As you rightly said my camo not that good at wf2 but i should hit master by wednesday/thursday so maybe ill use it more then.

Thanks for the info though

/conceal lasts 30min. MS lasts 15. Toon does NOT change when applying it: what you saw was an ID effect. In theory is is harder to break but we have suspected a bug were really low level will break it with impunity (as one of us has in his sig: The Kreetle sees all...). I personally suspect an additional bug with Riflemans conceal ability.

You can conceal on any planet the moment you have access to the command, as long as you have a kit in personal inventory for that planet; you do not need the ability to make it.

A tidbit.. I've tested this. I know it is true.

Camo does still work on NPCs.

Case in point: I was running missions out of the Rebel Hideout on Corellia. I killed a general, approached, still TEF'd obviously, and was aggroed by the stormtroopers. I fled, camo'd, returned. Was aggroed. Fair enough. After dealing with them, I noticed a stormtrooper camp nearby.. One stormtrooper, one medic. I was still camo'd, still TEF'd.. So I approached with caution.. Walked right in, and conversed with the stormtrooper for a bit. Yes, it was an NPC.

He never caught on until I turned and shot his medic.

I tested this further.. I killed another general. Went forth, camo'd, and looted the corpse. Moved away, killed one of the stormtroopers. Went forth, looted. Waved at the remaining stormtroopers. Repeat until all stormtroopers are dead.

Later, uncamo'd, but TEF'd, I walked into the midst of a bunch of stormtroopers.. Really slow, really careful.. Was aggroed. Fled, returned, killed the lot of 'em.

Are you absolutely sure that wasn't a Zabrak? Not all Zabraks have horns on their heads, it is possible for an ID to remove the horns from a zabrak, or change to a horn design with very subtle small horns or lots of hair and very few horns.

I had heard in the past that camo still works on Factioned NPC's, much as Dwolfe showed. I haven't tried it lately, but maybe I need to dust off the ole camo for a PvP raid....hmmm...

Next example, then.. A bunch of Nyax zealots.. Lagged in on me, and attacked me en masse. My furry butt was down before I could hit burst run. They didn't DB. I stood up, took two steps, and they incapped me again. I quickly set up acommand to drop my maskscent and conceal myself. When I stood up, I hit it immediately. No problems from there. The Nyax punks never noticed me again.

I agree with this. Camo makes a difference where it counts. Having been a Master Bio-Engineer / Master Ranger, appling dath camo has a hugh advantage on sneaking up on Mutant Rancors to get their DNA.
