As I write this I am about 40 hours from recieving my new laptop. The last time I played for any length of time was January 23rd. I left Japan for school in Florida the next day. While in school I borrowed a classmates laptop to play SWG (I brought my game with me). After loading it up, and a 10 hour dial up download, I figured out that he had on board Intel video (64 meg) that does not support T&L. AAAHHHH.
I left Florida for my next duty station in Maine on the 15th of February. After getting here and staying out in the boonies for a week (the closest gas station is 24 miles). I trucked over to my sisters house closer to civilization and loaded it there. It works or so I thought. Turns out her flat screen monitor looks like crap, and the video card kept stuttering. What a waste. I did get to put money on my house before it burned down.
So yesterday I took my tax money and bought a new kick bass laptop. It arrives on Friday morning. I couldn't wait until the 24th when I move into my new house with cable modem and my other computer.
None of this really was needed for a post, but I wanted to vent a bit so I could sleep. I can't wait.

I also fell for the Intel Exteme Graphics Chip. I was so excited about the $700 dollar laptop that my bean took a temporary vacation. By Extreme graphics, Intel means that it renders your icons like mad!!!
Since then, I have found that my amazing purchase also has 384 mb RAM (YES A WHOPPING 384)! Now I can't convince my wife that we need a new one..she says the one we have is perfectly fine. I run the game game on my desktop, but I am able to run Teamspeak AND IE simultaneaously on the laptop! I AM UBER. Wow, guess I was a little more bitter about that damn laptop than I thought.
