I am currently doing the rifleman/ranger combo and have almost mastered ranger( frontiering4 ARGH!)Anyway,I was wondering if anyone has done MR/MCH and found it to be either fun or effective. It would seem to be the ultimate nature combo. No vehicles, but mounts for transportation, and no weapon other than what you can tame and train to fight for you.I know many people wouldnt want to be without a weapon skill of some kind but it would certainly make life interesting when the aggro moves from the pet to you .Just wondering out loud, which means I will probably end up doing it lol.

I went from MR/TKM to MR/MCH and I can tell ya, it's quite pointless

Both professions are really support professions, relying on increasing the power of your combat profession rather then providing it's own. I enjoyed both classes, but they're not very good on their own together. You'll be better off with MR/a combat master/ CH dabbling and getting a level 19 BE tank pet. You'll spend half your income on pet stims, but you'll be more effective

A friend is that combo - frankly he sucks at hunting or in PvP.

His pets go chomp, the ones with the most damage are slower it seems. I have most critters half dead before his pets hit once. He traps, I shoot, his pets help somewhat, mainly tank. Solo, if a critter gets past his pets, he is hosed. His combat skills are lacking. Takes forever for him to harvest, the pets need to kill it before he can harvest.

In PvP, his pets are not the targets, he is. Someone figures out who is controlling thepets, that's the target. Even buffed and armored, he gets nailed, incapped, then the pets go dormant.

He is now dumping MCH and picking up a combat skill, I think TK. Something about he got tired of visiting the cloner all the time.

Hehe, I knew there was a hole in my logic somewhere and you guys pointed out two big enough to drive through. Two support classes are not a good idea, and I keep forgetting that pets have been hammered on their resists since I had some CH skills.Oh well, it sounded good at three in the morning .Its just that rifles take forever to level and unless you want to concealshot your way to master you get whacked a whole lot .I had swordsman for a while, maybe I'll pick that back up,or join the dark side and get tk.Thanks for the insight guys.

I would recommend a good BE pet to solve that problem. MCH/MR would definitely blow for PvP (if that is your cup of tea).

I've mastered quite a few professions and now I'm scaling back my playing time and decided to be a friendly support character as Master Musician / Master Ranger.

When I hit MR, I was still CH 3312, and I realized thatRifleman 0100 just wasn't going to cut it. I was spending way too many credits on pet stims, not to mention the cost of good BE pets. I realized that I needed to be able to hunt while alone. The 40% reduction in harvests is way too big a hit to take. I suppose I could've kept my pets ungrouped, but ...

Also, think of playstyle.

Ranger/ CH while on the surface is a symbiotic match, it requires a very passive style of play that for me personally I dont find appealing.
