I'm currently a 3-4-3-4 Ranger. The past few days I've been heading to Dathomir to get in some hunting groups to finish the scout XP I need to get Master. Since I can't make the Dathomir camo kit I've been masking scent. However, I am getting not xp even when I stand next to an aggro mob. To make matters worse I get attacked as if I'm not masked. The icon stays up there, I try to unmask and remask but it won't let me unmask, it says you can't mask when concealed. Now obviously I'm not concealed since I don't have the kit so something is wrong. Anyone else have this problem?

You are part of a group. As soon as anyone in the group gets aggroed you are a valid target no matter if maskscented or concealed.

Any other Rangers nearby? Maybe one of them hit you with a camo kit? Stealth Camo at the starport? WOulda been hard to miss, tho. Not sure. Just a note, you can use the Dath camo kit before you are a master. Did you maybe have one in you inventory and you accidentally concealed, not knowing it worked? Otherwise, I would say you have yourself a bug, but should try it again after a relog.

Oh yeah, what darmok said. As far as the agroing..yes, maybe a group mate got agroed. Once that happens you are fair game. And being a Ranger, you are the tastiest target.

Simply just think 'camo and maskscent do not exist in groups'. Even tho this isn't true it has a few advantages.

a) You don't wonder that you get aggroed without shooting first

b) You don't lead your group (consisting of quite a few ppl with just 'novice scout') that is out to get some dath avian through the middle of a group of ancient bull rancors because you are so used to the fact that you do not need to walk around them to avoid getting attacked .

Although you guys have brought up some good points, this was happening to me when I've been traveling solo, not grouped at all. I'd land at one starport, have no luck finding a group and then going to the next outpost. When I masked scent, I didn't have a camo kit on, at least not that I saw, as it said your scent is now masked.

I have had some problems with being attacked without mask scent and cammoflauge being broken whilst hunting solo as well. The mobs had no previous aggro on me and the nearest I can figure it out is that both skills are working as they are meant too, except sometimes there is no message to let you know when the skill has failed.
